My VT at a red light..

So I'm not gonna lie.. I was running to Arby's just now cause I had a craving, When up pulled two kids in a VW GTI ( a newer looking one). We were at a stop light they looked over and revved their engine... Not to be outdone, I revved mine.. I reached over, turned off eco mode, turned my music up loud (which happened to be Psy's Gangam Style) and the light turned green and I dropped the pedal. I don't think they knew what to expect but I'll just say this.... I smoked em... Hard....

Just sayin....

Psy's Gangnam Style? Haha Are you Korean, or just listening to that awesome song?
Im actually Thai and Dutch, but I dig foreign music I cannot understand. Tho that song sounds AMAZING turned up in the car... you should get it off of itunes and check it out in the car.. But was fun kicking those kid's butts ;)
A mk5/mk6 GTi with DSG will take the VT, manual it's more of a drivers race perhaps. GTi with stage 1 will eat us alive.

The problem with VT is that it doesn't put the power down well. You probably get the best time by avoiding wheel hops at launch. How did you launch the car?
Took on a couple mates with a polo Gti and golf Gti. Had the polo by a car length at the end of third. Had the golf by half a car at the same point. both had dsg in auto mode with traction off. I have manual with traction off and good tyres. If your getting wheel hop in your vt its time for new tyres, would be worth up to .5 seconds

I already replaced my tires with Hanook V12. What rpm do you launch your car at? Do you dump the clutch or slip it a little?
With AT in manual mode can you get to neutral? Rev it some and launch similar to an actual MT?
I forgot I never had a 'sporty car' in AT so this totally went over my head, how is it done in a AT vehicle? I'm guessing in neutral which is basically the same for a MT in 1st with the clutch all the way in.
i always thought revving in neutral and dropping into gear is a good way to fuck your tranny up

Must have been a 1.8T because the 2.0 TSI would destroy you.
It is not recommended. Instead it is much safer to simply press the brake with your left foot while giving it a little gas to spool up the turbo. It is still a bad idea, but not as bad as a neutral drop.

Guess you haven't heard of bad drivers...

3K, and let it slip a little, cant be too harsh or you will loose rpm/boost. Want the gear changes to be smooth, I have found the accelerator to be quite laggy so when it comes to changing gears, I lift off and clutch in, shift gas on, clutch out. Smooth on the clutch again. So pretty well apply full gas pedal as you shift into the next gear that way the turbo has spooled up and is ready to go again before you let the clutch out. also need to get out of gears around 6200ish, 6800 is too high and you dont benefit from the low torque when you get the next gear.

I need to get the gopro back in the car so i can record my shift points and perfect my launch a bit more :)
So AT can't look cool off a stop light? :(
