When i open the door, before i sit down, and before i start the car, it sounds like a humming, or a fan of some sort, the noise seems to be in the center console area. It doesn't go away when car is started, but does go away after a couple minutes. Oddly, happens every morning, parked in my garage, after work, when it sits and cools down it happens, if we are running around, in and out, all is normal.
Question, what is this, is it normal? Is it a turbo thing. Input appreciated.tks

I don't know that I've noticed it when I open the door/start the car. But when I get out I hear it for a few seconds after the car is off. I believe if I remember reading correctly at one point that our oil pump continues to pump oil to the turbo for a bit after the car is off too cool it off a bit similar to how guys would leave the car running with a turbo timer to do the same.
yep. with older turbo'd cars the oil stopped being pumped to the turbo after the car was turned off. lots of people were damaging their turbos by turning off their car right away and causing them to over heat. its a safety feature on newer turbos so that you can turn off your car right away and not have to sith there for five minutes letting it idle

Now is it doing what Dawgbonez described also? I'll have to check when I go to my car later, but if it's anticipating the starting of the car when you get in and pumping oil to the turbo that's really cool as well. I always let it idle for 30 seconds before driving and drive light the first few minutes just to make sure oil has circulated the turbo, but that would be a cool feature if it's actually being proactive.
