Hello, name's josh. Little about me, i live in oklahoma, married with an amazing 2 year old son, and work for GameStop. Theres me in a nutshell :)

ok now that that's over with here are my questions lol. Theres a used 2013 VT at a local dealership (non-hyundai) listed at 21,211 with 11,000 miles
Used 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo (Black Car) Muskogee, Oklahoma

and then theres one BRAND NEW in Dallas, TX which is 3 hours from here give or take. http://www.hyundairandallnoe.com/VehicleDetails/new-2013-Hyundai-Veloster-3dr_Cpe_Auto_Turbo_w%2FBlack_Int-Terrell-TX/1976829703

Im going to drive the one in town tomorrow morning to see if i even like it as i have never driven one, i just love the looks and styling of the car. I want to be closer to 20/19,9 on the used one since the new one is not that far away and is the same price. My question is which would be the better deal? Which way would you guys go? Slightly used or new? The used one isnt at a hyundai dealership so it isnt certified....

thanks for the info!!!!

Get the new one, have peace of mind knowing you have a 100,000 warranty

Yeah, the much touted Hyundai warrantee is only for the original owner.
Also, you don't know how bad she might have been flogged during those early miles. It's not enough of a deal.
My wife and i were just talking about that - the used one only has the 5/60 and not the 10/100 so thats def. a contributing factor.

Also im assuming you served/are serving? I thank you for your service if so. I was in the Coast Guard for a brief amount of time.
I go new too. I might end up costing a bit more with tax and any extras, but you are getting a brand new car thats all yours, full warranty and a Hyundai dealer that knows (hopefully) the car.

Used from another dealer, who knows where it came from.
I'd be worried about why someone got rid of it after just 11000 mi. If they didn't care to keep it very long chances are they didn't bother to take good care of it while they owned it. Go new. You'll be glad youve got a 3 hour drive home to enjoy your new toy
I thought about that. I pulled the carfax on it and all the routine maintenance has been done at the local Hyundai dealership next door to where its for sale. I'm still going to go drive it In the morning - just to make sure i like it - but unless they come off the price quite a bit I think a trip to Dallas is in the future.

On a side note anything I need to look for or be aware of on these cars?
I dont think so. Its a first year car, so random problems have been reported, but nothing really significant or common. A few of us here in Canada had CEL codes all within a month of each other for a bad purge valve. I really think 99% of us are pretty happy with the car.
spend the extra $1500 for piece of mind and get what you want in the car along with the extra 5 years of power train warranty. Let us know how it goes.
if you want less issues that "MAY" appear go with a manual 6 speed, non-ultimate package. it will save you a bit of money also.
MAYBE it would be worth it is it was the ult package. I say NO. Just wait for the 2014. Or just get the same car NEW. It isn't a HUGE savings buying it used.
What's going to be different on the 14? Anything major?
According to Korea stock sound system gets upgraded to beats audio. Engine is upgraded to 204hp, though because of regulations, you'll still be at 201, I'm guessing. Not sure if the new larger brakes or sport tuned suspension is the same or if it'll carry over...2 new colors (for Korea) Ice ..ew.. and petrol gray? Front parking sensors and heated/cooled seats are avail on a package now, but that might not make it across the pacific.
????? ????

This is all in Korea but I am going to get my VT around OCT and hopefully by then the 2014 will be in by then. But I'd hate to get a 2013 VT right now and in a few months the 2014 VT's come out and it has all those things. Sound system gets upgraded form dimensions to beats audio, better engine upgrade, larger brakes and sport tuned suspension.

BUT there is a chance NOTHING will change here in USA. But compared to your used vt you are looking at it is worth the wait.
Interesting. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to wait too long. We're down to one car which is ok through the summer but my wife is a school teacher and we would need a second car by late July.
dang that does suck that you can't wait. Either way, a vt now or a vt later, a vt is a vt :D

Just don't be mad if the 2014 or PIMP lol

Like I said, 21k for that would a great deal if it was the ult package. But since they are so new, I'd just get a new one for a little more. buying a new one will be stretching your money. Buying this used one is really selling yourself short.
Is the ult package worth the extra? My wife's car has a moon roof that we never even use lol
My wife has a sonata limited and we use hers often. I love opening it up when the sun isn't directly up and it isn't too hot or too cold.

Also, it comes with better audio system. Comes with a built in sub and all the speakers are upgraded with better speakers powered by a 400w external amp.

It just adds value to the car.
