Newby need wide

wohh .. 245 you're gonna need something healthy like a 35-25 or so .. and like an 8.5" rim.. any particular reason you're looking so fat?

Grip grip grip. I am running Evo x rims. 8.5 with 38 offset. Just a little poke. 255. No issues.

Weird how you want to chose a rim to fit a tire. Usually it is the other way around.

But to answer you question, I would need to know what ratio you want. For instance, if you want a 245/40R18 then that tire fits exactly a 8" - 9.5". But if you want a 245/45R18, that fits 7.5" - 9".

So provide what profile you want. Because with out that, you can not know what fits a 245 tire.

If you want the wheel to poke out, rim width go hand and hand with offset.

So if you want to run a 18X7.5, you might want to go with a +35 or lower offset. Either that, or if you go with a higher offset like a +50, then you are going to need a thick spacer. On the flip side, if you go with a 18X9.5, a +35 might be all you need to poke.

Again, the question do not give enough details to answer.
