Hey guys, I would like to keep all posts pertaining to the cruise here in this thread. Any questions feel free to post in this section. I will post updates here.

Ok guys out east of gainesville, id like us to meet at the Harris Teeter on the corner of 15 and 29 at 10:00am on the 6th. Here is the addy

7910 crescent park dr
Gainesville va

The best way to go is to take 66 all the way to exit 40 for Leesburg/Haymarket, take the left at the stop light there, go straight about 2.5 miles or so and youll see the Harris Teeter there on the left.

Just some reminders. If you want to drive like a douchebag and speed and cut people off, be my guest, but you sure as hell wont be doing it with us. This is a "cruise", not a high speed race to the top lol. We do not have the best handling cars, and unless you put on some pilot super sports, you cannot take some of the turns too fast. This is a relaxing cruise. 211 is a very highly patrolled area by state police and skyline drive is just as bad. The more of us there are, the more appealing we will be to the local law enforcement. So lets keep it to 5 over at the most.

It costs 15 bucks to get onto the drive, 30 for a yearly pass. Credit cards should be accepted, they were last year at least so to play it safe anyways, bring cash.

Once we are on the drive, there are tons of stopping points to take great pics of the cars, so if somebody has a decent camera to take pics with, the better.

I think this should be fun, hopefully more people jump on the bandwagon and come with us!

UPDATE 3/30/13-
First, My 370z guys will be coming on the cruise too. I have about 6-10 370's showing up for this and will be meeting us at the Harris Teeter. I will NOT be in mine however. Theyre the best group of guys around and will show you all respect as they show me. (I wouldnt bring douchebags to our first cruise). Steve, the leader of the Z group im in, will also take some rolling shots of us in our VT's.

Second - Heres how the cruise is going to go. We are going to meet at the Harris Teeter as listed above. From there we will go down 29, through warrenton to 211 where we will meet up with Importmonkey really quick and he will hop in with us. This would be an EXCELLENT place to gas up as its the cheapest gas around at the 7-11. From there we will head down 211 to Skyline Drive. After getting onto the mountain, and going through the toll booth, we WILL get spread out so we will stop at the Panorama right there on the right after the toll booth. (Basically you turn left at the fork in the road, then go about 500 feet and its right there). After we get everybody together, we can get in some group shots. From there we will make the trek over to Skyland Resort for a nice lunch. We will stay there a couple hours, then head down to Big Meadows, Since there is some good hiking there (nothing too extreme) we will hang out there for a few hours to kill time before dinner. We will then head back to Skyland for dinner. The dinner menu is different from the lunch menu and includes items such as steak, chicken, and other things. They also have a very nice wine selection for the wine lovers. After the dinner, there are two ways to go home. The more scenic route of 211 to 29 to 66, or you can stay on the drive and head to Front Royal and take 66 home from there. I myself will be going home via 211.

You know, we could hold one big meet up somewhere around Richmond and get all of us up here and the guys down around VA Beach and Norfolk to come too. It probably wouldn't be a regular thing but even once with a decent turnout would be cool.

Hey guys, how does the weekend of the April 6th look for everybody? I can do that saturday or sunday.

Jason, regarding richmond meets, that would be a once in a blue moon event. I dont know any of the guys down there (heck, i barely know the guys here) but perhaps if you wanted to schedule something with them, let me know and ill see if I can make it.

That should work for me. Saturday or Sunday. Wives and kids, too? Brunch in Orlean would be nice. Mainly cause it's only 8min from me, but also 'cause of Leads Manor Rd!

Saturday morning would be best for me but Sunday works as well too. Wife and kids would be fine. I figure the people further out east could meet me in gainesville, then we head to warrenton and down 211 and meet up with you. They have relatively nice restaurants up there with great views, we could do that as well. Skyland resort opens up there that Saturday. Its not too expensive.

Let's play it by ear. If its nice out, let's picnic.

P.S. every 3rd Sunday, the Orlean volunteer fire dept does a breaksast. For $7, you can't find a better meal! Grits and all you can eat.

So far that weekend looks open for me, but that could change before the end of March. "pencil" me in for now on the 6th.

Sounds good... and if we're making this wife/family friendly, then it should be no problem making it out of the house w/ "her" car, too! LMAO!!! If not, y'all may be watching the rear view of my SX-L! hehe! j/k!

Alrighty, my wife said she would come too. They have bbq pits we can use too. When it gets closer, maybe we can coordinate who all brings what food.

Ok what time do you guys want to do this? The earlier the better, id like to be in Amissville around 11 at the absolute latest, as it takes about 30 minutes to there there from that location. Please remember it costs 15 to get up there, they accept credit. But if youre going to go up there more than twice in a year, just get the yearly pass for I think 30 bucks or so. Most importantly, cops are ALL over the place up there. So NO speeding unless you want to pay a hefty fine.

Yeah you definitely dont speed up there, but the curves going up 211 are super fun right outside of sperryville.

Im not sure going fast up corners on these stock Kumhos are very safe either haha. Youll go right off the side of the mountain!

I may bring my 370 LOL

Hey Tex, if you want to do a faster cruise, theres some nice roads we can take, but its way out of our way if youre going to come to the skyline drive cruise. I figured the skyline drive cruise would be a good one since importmonkey will be bringing his kid and wife, and id rather not go on a fast cruise if hes bringing family, especially children. We will have PLENTY of other opportunities for faster cruises this spring/summer. I am also not a fast driver at all. I dont like to go super fast unless its in my 370 or until I get new tires on the VT. Even when im going faster, I dont go balls to the wall, I am a firm believer of obeying speed limits (to a certain extent LOL) and not driving like a dbag putting other lives at risk. The 370z drivers do it and thats why I dont go on cruises with them ever again haha.

I figured even it was just once with all of us it would be fun. There seems to be quite a few on both sides

That'd be awesome. Tnis summer would be a great time to. But we would have to set a date soon to give people time. It'd suck if we went all the way down there and only 2 others show up lol.

Well, I'm in the "convincing" mode right now to get the wife on board for the cruise this time, so let me work this one out first before we hit another one. I was just giving you a hard time about the speed limits. I get enough "exhiliration" from the twisties on my Duc! So taking a casual one with the families is all good, too. We'll still be in the "break in" period come next month, given how little we drive, so it's all good! I'm interested in seeing/hearing the suspension/exhaust setup you've got, though! :)

Heck, you can even bring the optima, doesnt matter. Take her out for a nice lunch up there with us. We can do what monkey said and do a picnic, or we can do a restaurant up there. It really doesnt matter to me. My wife will be bored out of her mind, it sounds like yours may be bored too LOL.
