I highly recommend if you are military, or have a USAA account to use their car buying service. I paid about $1600 below sticker. Well worth the few minutes to plug the desired car/options into the car buying service system, and getting the voucher printed right out at home to take to the dealership. I honestly don't think the dealer would have come down that much on their own due to the scarcity and quick lot turnover of the VT.

not a voucher per se, they send out quote requests to local dealers, then if you accept a quote, they have the dealer contact you. Sorry.
I got 3 quotes from local dealers...with 3 different discounts offered. I did have to print out the "voucher" or discount page to take to the dealership. The 3 dealers did email/call me, but the dealer I chose to purchase from did not sent an offer to me, but was just happy & willing to match the lowest offer I had received.

2 of the 3 dealers here were marking them up $900 - $1,200 because they had sold their allotments and were only getting dealer trades now. After being unable to find the package I wanted for months and not wanting to gamble on not ever being able to find the one I want I actually told the salesman, "If you can find me the one I want I will pay retail for it." He literally dropped his pen.

After a fair amount of searching on his system he found the exact car that I had been building on the website night after night - down to the accessories. I figured that retail was fair because it was still cheaper than the markup on the other 2 lots.

In order for my dealer to get my car they had to trade their last allotted VT - the one with matte paint! The manager acted a little put out, but when pressed he admitted that while the matte one was great for the showroom he wasn't sure it would sell anytime soon and since he didn't think he would see anymore of the VT's for a while there was not much reason to have a display model.

I was able to get $1000 below MSRP (they called it "invoice") but was also able to get another $500 military veterans discount that I found on Hyundai's website. The dealer called all over the central portion of the country for a manual VT. One dealer in Kentucky told them they would have an easier time finding a "unicorn". I was lucky enough to get one specially allocated to the dealer. Should be here in 10 days or so.

I was going to wait until spring but heard Hyundai is done producing turbos for the 2013 model year and didn't want to wait until fall of 2013.

What about taxes?

Hey, Thank you all for posting with the discounts that you recieved. Please repost and let us know if that included taxes. I am assuming that these quotes did not include taxes which would be another 2,000.00 in my state.

Thank you for your time and enjoy this awesome car.

It seems like a new batch of turbos might be starting to trickle in to the dealers because 2 of them that couldn't get me one have started calling me now. But none of them have a M/T.

Hindsight being 20/20, I probably paid too much for mine. I paid full retail plus $750 shipping. But it is the exact one I wanted and I didn't want to take any chances on not being able to get one for another 9-12 months.

I would try negotiating for a lower price now.
