Can anyone give a heads up on whether this stuff is any good? Here in Canada, Crappy Tire has it on sale this week at $27 for a 5L jug (40% off).

I've got it in mine right now - I wanted to use Pennzoil Ultra, but couldn't get any in the Bay Area when I was going in for a change. Nothing to complain about and it is a full synthetic.

I hate pennzoil. but that is from personal experience ans seeing the build up left in my ranchero's oil pan from the previous owner of the engine we dropped in. It is loaded with waxy filler shit. or at least it used to be.
I don't think that's the case anymore. I can't find any evidence to support that Pennzoil synthetic has done damage to any engines. Out of curiosity, how old was the Ranchero, and was it being filled with synthetic oil?

I grabbed a few jugs on the way home tonight. Reading this I'm sure it's more than good enough, as it exceeds API SN and all previous categories; lLSAC GF-5 and ACEA A5 industry specifications.

castrol full synthentic titanium, gold jug seemed to have all the rating required for our cars and appearently exceeds those requirements. Now if your going to heavily mod or race your car go with the am soil amd motul products.

Not sure if you have a costco in canada, but they sometimes do a sale with Mobil1 synthetic. 6qts is a little over $20 bucks. Excellent deal in my opinion and I always buy a box when it's on sale.

As far as I know, they were using the lowest grade of synthetic that pennzoil made. IT may not be the case anymore, but it just kind of puts a sour taste in my mouth. This is all personal opinion though, since I have no hard evidence of current quality on Pennzoil's part :p

If you sign up for an AMSOIL preferred customer account, you can get their products at a nice discount, ... have used their oils for years without a single issue!
I could say the same about Castrol GTX .. but it doesn't mean I'd continue to use it
