Hi guys, i know some of you already installed this intake system to your VT. I just noticed that since i installed my Injen SRI (IS1341) my VT its not like before, that's responsive or can easily accelerate. I already check if there is a leak or pinholes on my tube and check the rubber gourmet if properly installed. So, i just want to know from you guys, what is your experience after you installed your Injen to your VT. Thanks in advance.

I finally decided to reinstall my factory intake system again and noticed a better throttle response and acceleration. Doing more testing this week to confirm what is the culprint of HP loss.

I don't like cold air intakes for a couple of reasons, but the main one is that it's a major change to the engine and unless the ecu can self-adjust there is a good chance that performance will deteriorate. A car ecu can usually adjust for a less restrictive exhaust system through the lambda sensor and measuring oxygen content, but intake system changes are much more radical. In the old days of carburettors we had to re-jet for silencer changes and for air filter changes. Exhaust changes were easy to manage, just go a bit richer and check the plugs after a hard run, but we always struggled to get different air filters right.

The other reason I don't like them is that cone air filters are not as effective at filtering as stock paper air filter elements (go to Bob is the Oil Guy and look at the testing they have done to see what I mean). Less filtration means more engine wear.

I've noticed similar results with mine as well. Unfortunately I didn't take down numbers with the stock system in place from my torque app to do any real comparisons. I mainly notice the loss of power at lower rpms. Once it gets up it seems to go pretty well. That all said I love the sound of it though. I feel that it probably needs a valve in the intake to throttle the air pressure in the pipe. The sick system may be similar diameter pipe but the inlet system is designed to control the delivered air pressure and resistance. Basically it just needs a tune to compensate for the differences.

I didn't have the Injen SRI, but the $30 SRI and I noticed similar results. From 1,900-3,000rpm the engine just seemed....blah. I thought driving it for a week would allow the ECU to "autotune" itself, but I couldn't take the noise and performance loss for that long. I assume (from the little I know) that the air flow velocity is more important to our VT's than volume. Isn't a loss in torque par for the course with SRI's anyway?

Definitely want a tune!

The downpipe, catback, and cai might have to sit in the barn until tuners catch up.

......very slowly.......
not really.. the car hasn't even been out for much over a year (if it's been over a year) usually cars don't get tunes till a year or 2 after they've come out. esp ones that don't have any real aftermarket support

hmm I'm wondering if me using 2.5" pipe instead of 3" is making this not happen or that i'm using a slightly longer pipe and getting a moderate CAI

....there is already a tune that is ready for the 2014 mustang.....and they are only a few months into the 2013 model year.

I don't know why people keep defending the poor aftermarket support for this car as if it is normal....the fact of the matter is that the tune is slow coming out because it is way down on their priority list.

The tune for the 2014 mustang is identical to the 11-13 so not a fair comparison. Your also talking about a car that has a huge fan base. We have the car that just came out and there isnt a huge amount on the road. Plus a new motor never used before. Itll come it just takes time and demand and i dont think there is enough demand to warrant it for most companies.

Exactly what I said, the tune is not out because they don't have it on their priority list.....

....What I just don't understand why everyone defends it, makes excuses about being "new" and tells the masses that should be "ok" with the lack of support.....the lack of support is not because the VT is "new"...if a company really wanted a tune out in a timely fashion, it would have been out a long time ago.

companies like SFR and BTRcc hyundai is a big part of their market...... comparing a new model to an already existing one is absurd and the fact that people keep doing it boggles my mind

not all fords get tunes immediately, most gms dont either.. shit the v6 camaro was supported by HPtuners i think over a year after it was supported by my old tuners platform and that ecm/ engine is used in multiple cars... idk why people think it has to be out in the first 6 months or it slow.. companies have to get their hands on the car first.. then test for a while..

neither of those companies have made our cars a focal point/important project or the tune would be out already.......is it something that they have tucked in the back of their mind or some sort of side project, definitely....

......and fwiw the cars are definitely available for testing and the owners are willing, so I can't imagine getting their hands on one is a difficult thing to do....

I just googled BTRcc. They are in Arlington Heights IL?

Hmmmmm I work right by there. I wonder if they need a test car.

I know when I had my Lancer (Ralliart) the first year they came out...there was no support. It was a new engine and no one wanted to give me the time of day. Luckily, I was able to tag along with the EVO folks and got in on their dyno days, tuning sessions, and meets. I had $3,000 ready to go into a supercharger kit with the local tuner and he didn't even flinch. No one seemed to pay serious attention to me since I was the only one.

Now, if we start getting 8-12 cars together to rent a dyno for a day and get a tuner who wants to invest his time...we might be better off.

It's hard not to take this idea of being on a back burner personally, but business is business. They are working for free until they sell something.

i have someone who would jump on it and have something out relatively soon probaby but it would cost 40-50k to do it
