Performance Exhaust - Muffler

I guess most of us would like to hear our exhaust note, at least a little. I know Magnaflow makes a stainless axle back exhaust for the NA
Veloster. Does anyone know if the same exhaust system fits the turbo model ?

Who all is interested in a audible exhaust system ?:cool2: If you are interested, please reply to this thread.

you want ZERO backpressure on a turbo setup.. the BEST exhaust on a turbo car is no exhaust.. That is why people do the exhaust dumps when racing so the exhaust does not have to flow through as much piping.

With the way the turbo manifold, turbo and o2 housing is designed it is not going to negatively affect spool up. We are only talking about modifying the piping AFTER the cat.
Some backpressure is neccessary for all exhaust systems to run optimally.

I just wish I could find a video of something somewhere on the internet -.- Aftermarket exhaust or NO exhaust haha I want to hear the potential the VT has ;)
We will release our prototype video soon
Sweet, Please put the engine under some load I would like to hear the turbo through the exhaust :)
We believe that our exhaust will be able to alleviate the gas fumes in cabin issue that is going on.
turbosocks, what kind of torq/HP increase have you seen after installing the SRI and BOV?
I have no idea. Haven't taken it to the dyno yet.. And even after I take it to the dyno, I will not have a 'before' dyno to compare it to. I plan on taking it to the dyno sometime after labor day now that everything is done as far as the simple bolt ons.

I am guessing that your exhaust will not have that stupid gap between the real tips and the back of the car and replace the faux tips with real ones.

The cause of the fume problem from what I can tell is that when you are just sitting there, the fumes don't go out the back and they just collect under the car because of the gap between the REAL tips and those fake ones connected to the bumper..
I had a techtonics catback on my old Jetta GLI. It used a borla muffler. Would love to get that sound back. Here is a vid I took before I sold it.

Hey Turbosocks,

What's the chances of the muffler shop that made your axle back, produce them without having the vehicle there? Would they be able to duplicate your system and then ship it?

That sounds pretty sweet. What about at cruisin speed ?

just a weee bit louder than stock. 0 exhaust drone. It was really a marvel that I haven't been able to duplicate since I sold it.

I think this is the exact setup. TT Stainless Full 2.5 Exhaust '99-'04 Jetta 1.8t, w/Borla Muffler [252 464T] - $640.00 : Techtonics Tuning, VW and Audi Performance Tuning and Repair Parts
2.5 inch from downpipe (use a higher flow cat) to exhaust tip. Similar setup to ours, 1.8L, small turbo (single scroll though), wasn't direct injected, but I don't think that will matter too much. I did have a cold air intake and Forge diverter on that car though, which definately made it more audible in the video.

Either way, that sound is my goal for this car. Once I figure out the flow of the cat, its gonna be time to source their resonator and muffler. Planning to holla at my old VW shop to see if he may have a packing list for my old purchase. I guess worst case is, since our exhaust is already 2.5", i could just buy this setup again and replace the resonator, muffler and add custom tips.

I see they have a system for sale on their website.
yeah, i just saw it listed also.. 1300$ retail.. probably means it will sell for similar pricing of the NA V exhaust around 1000$ or so shipped..

looks like they are using 2.75" piping.. for a 1.6L turbo is quite overkill, even at 250whp.

1000$ for <10hp when you can get plenty of flow from a muffler delete and resonator replacement for 40% of that price...
I'd really like to hear a sound clip of it though.
i must be blind because i dont see it listed on their site. i saw the na one
nevermind. found it. i wasnt on the usa site. lol
we can't see It... It's a private video on youtube
