This thread will showcase the different brake products and kits that we develop/run specials on. Our plans are to have a selection of brake products for both the spirited steet enthusiast and the hardcore track guys.

First up are dimpled/crossdrilled and slotted rotors!

In the racing world we are constantly trying to find the lightest, strongest, and smallest (yes I said smallest) brake rotor available---many theories and ideas have been tried to increase cooling/self cleaning/adding dimples/grooves/slots/holes/weight reduction/angled vanes and now even kangaroo paw's (I'm not joking!) to the rotors to increase braking efficiency. The basic idea is you want the lightest/strongest/smallest rotor available to get the job done---by reducing the rotor's size and weight the vehicle will benefit from increased performance off the corner, better pedal feel, increased life of hubs and wheel bearings and overall unsprung weight reduction.

However as performance/speeds increase the brakes start to retain heat/loose their effectiveness. We actually spend a fair amount of time at the track with pyrometers/temperature paint testing brake rotors/brake pad compounds trying to find the most effective combination. Often times in the Performance Touring type classes the larger brakes are not the answer and actually increase pedal effort, decrease feel/sensitivity, and lengthen overall stopping distances. In the more stock type racing classes we end up working with the stock dimension rotors and enhanced brake pad compounds/fluids (in addition to adequate brake cooling) to get the best results. We've found that on front wheel drive vehicles the front rotors are doing about 65% of the work (based on temperature tests/pad wear) and the manufactures have used a similar ratio as well---you'll find larger rotors/calipers in the front, smaller diameter rotors (and often solid)/calipers out back---common knowledge.

After driving the Veloster at the track I believe there is a lot of potential in the stock size brake components---and a lot of room for improvement/growth. With that said, I was driving the car at Willow Springs which is not particularly hard on the brakes, but I was during a few of the laps and experienced a bit of brake fade. Overall the cars fairly light and fairly well balanced for a fwd so working with the stock dimensions will yield good solid improvements.

First up would be the front rotors. The turbo got a larger front rotor right out of the box so good on Hyundai. We prefer dimples/slotted setup in the front to reduce warping and cracking. We've done mainly endurance roadracing over the last 10 years and have found that after many repetitive heat cycles the crossdrilled front rotors will develop cracks (during the 25 Hours of Thunderhill we had cracking after 13 hours and had to change fronts---and they we're cracked at the end of the event as well) while the dimples/slots will go 3 times as long (over 85 race ours before cracking). The rears are doing much less work so weight reduction is key---we've had rear crossdrilled rotors go years and never crack.

With all of this said your average streetcar/track day enthusiast will never have an issue with cracking and warping these rotors, in fact they have a lifetime warranty against both---lifetime warranty against cracking/warping!!! Here's a bit of info about the rotor's/design:

The advantage of the dimpled drilled and slotted brake rotors is the superior braking power you will experience over your stock brake system. Partially drilled dimpled holes dissipate heat without penetrating the brake pad surface and sacrificing brake disc strength. Fully extended curved scraper slots not only give you unbelievable stopping power but they also throw the dust away from your wheels keeping them cleaner. The brake rotor or disc is machined balanced and guaranteed to fit original equipment manufacturer specs without any brake modification.

We're proud to offer these rotors for sale---and through the end of the year you can get a set of 4 dimpled/slotted front/crossdrilled rear rotors delivered to your door for $300!! Free shipping in the US/no tax and if you order before Dec 31st-2012 we'll throw in a free bottle of Motul Performance brake fluid! This offer will take a week or so before it reach's our site so please feel free to contact me here in this thread/PM me or call me at the shop (310-542-2977) to place your order.

The street rotors are coated and machined to a crazy tolerance---it's truly impressive, not long ago we used to have to buy rotor blanks from stoptech or brembo and spend $300 dollars just in machine work alone to get near the same results..

Well these will be on my to do list probable pretty soon on January since not much aftermarket engine parts aren't available yet. I would get them now but Christmas is 24 days away and presents needing to be brought for other people other than myself. lol!

Probably should have posted this here in the first place!!!
With the need for a better compound for our own racecar, and the lack of aftermarket brake support for the Veloster Turbo in general, we're proud to introduce the Piercemotorsport VTRS4 Performance front brake pad for the 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo! We've gone to Porterfield Enterprises, one of the best/leader's in performance brake pads and endurance brake compounds-with over 40 years of experience winning races, to construct a performance front brake pad. The compound developed for the Veloster Turbo is dual purpose, suitable for performance driving on the street and of course the much needed increased performance for the track/autocross. The VTRS4 pad features-

Reduced stopping distances*
Reduced brake fade in performance driving situations*
Compound performs flawlessly with rotor temps over 1000 degrees*
Easy on rotors with easy break in procedure*
Lower brake dust and non corrosive dust*
Low noise/feedback!!!*
Best balance between initial bite and pedal effort*

I've been racing for over 25 years and I can tell you in a roadrace car the pedal that wins endurance races is the one in the middle! Getting the brake balance perfect and developing the brake system to withstand the duration of the event is crucial to finishing on the podium. With that said you can't take a race pad compound and run it on the street---the pads will literally eat the rotors up and you'd be living with dust filled rims, crazy brake noise and of course changing rotors every 15k mi!!! We've got the absolute best balance between the race compound and street compound I've ever seen/had the pleasure of driving with. We've used many different brands (I should clarify that---we've tried nearly every major performance compound over the years) and the RS4 is just simply my favorite.

This is a high end pad and shouldn't be compared to brands like EBC/Hawk/Metal Matrix etc---those pads serve a purpose in the market for an affordable off the shelve bump in performance. This pad was built with increased performance in mind and will perform at much higher level's than the above.

We're going to retail the pad for $159 plus shipping---as we usually do, we're going to offer it discounted to forum members for $149 shipped to your door in the US and a just a bit more to Canada/Australia through the end of May 2013!

They'll be up on our site/ebay store next week, but feel free to pm to order a set anytime-thanks!!!

Not at the moment---I think I've sold like 3 sets of the fronts---doesn't seem to be a lot of interest. They'll be pads by the end of summer available that'll work with our fronts---as soon as Hawk/EBC come out with stuff the market will be wideopen...

Yes sir-we can do it-I think Truman's/two toes rotors are like those or close.
