Ok, JUST GOT home and i'm pretty upset.
Driving home on sandy plains rd and some other car and I are are pretty much cruising @ 55mph at a 45mph zone, typical me.
This is a 2 lane rd and we have to slow down due to two cars just cruising @ around 40mph which is no big deal.
It starts to frustrate me because they are on separate lanes and side by side...
So I notify the 04-05ish camry in front of me to move aside (I just flash my high beam twice real quick).
WELL FK, they decide to slam their breaks.
I don't understand why people decide to do that.
So I have to slam my breaks and the other car behind me does as well.
I'm pissed from here on out.
As soon as it turns into 3 lanes (only for about 2000 feet) I switch, shift down 2 gears, and floor it.
My car hasn't hit 600 miles yet (T_T).
I get in front of the camry slam my breaks and again, floor it.
Ruined my perfect day today.
Don't understand why people just can't move over.
On the highway, people move over all the time, and I do as well if the car coming up behind me is gaining fast.

I feel much better just by typing all this >_>.
Now I worry for my car... I hit 6k RPM very fast and it's the first time i've gone over 5k RPM.

People will always be dicks..
In cases like this Ill turn my hazards on for a few seconds and sometimes people will move over if they think you have an emergency as opposed to just driving too fast or they want to be a dick.. At no point in time to I ever get up on someones ass because if they have some crap car and decide to slam on their brakes and you hit them, everything is your fault and there is a LOT of BS that comes with it.. not worth it at all.. People do crap like that to get under your skin, if you look like a sane driver that a lot of times they dont try to be a dick

 semajhan you remind me of myself when I was much younger. If they were going 40 on a 45, and you wanted to go at 55, you should be more patient for two reasons: 1 they are not going 20 and blocking normal traffic, and 2 you (or anyone for that matter) can't hurry them along just because you are in a hurry. I hate people that do that too, but I am wiser now that I am older and know that if I wait a few minutes, I can pass them and go on my merry way. I mean, a few minutes later you were able to open it up and pass them right? So because you were in a hurry and impatient, you ruined your happy day driving your beautiful car. And believe me, the other driver probably forgot what you did a few minutes later, and here you are still fuming about it. I understand you, but take it easy, and you will enjoy your drive much more. Ah, if you were to hit them from behind, even if they were royal asses by slamming on the brakes, it will all be your fault. Hope you take this to heart!!!

Hello? Do you understand now that you have slammed your brakes on too?

I'm sorry but I have to point out a few things to you in regards to this story:
1) Why are you allowing someone else to frustrate you and affect your driving or your "perfect" day?
2) Why would you assume they are trying to be a dick when, in fact, you may have startled them and therefore, their reaction is to assume maybe an emergency vehicle is behind them, a cop, etc?
3) Why would you then attempt to cause an accident by "paying them back" - it would be your vehicle damaged if they failed to respond and judging by their reaction to you blinking your brights, they may not react the way you assume they might.
4) You said the road opened to 3 lanes in just 2000 feet or so, why not just wait a couple more seconds and then pass safely, put them out of your mind and go on your merry way?
5) The word you are looking for is "brakes", not "breaks".

That's what I told him also (points 1, 3, and 4) and you bring up a good point with #2.

I didnt realize speeding then flashing your lights at cars that are doing the speed limit is considered polite. Personally I would have probably stepped on my brakes a bit as well. Were I live here way south of ATL out in "the sticks" you pull that kind of flashing lights crap and you are likely to have the person in front of you show you their pistol/rifle/weapon of choice etc through the rear glass.

You must still be in your 20's.

REEEEE-LAX!

Had to hurry to a party/gathering and I was late.
They slammed on their breaks twice and I had been patiently cruising behind them for approximately 20 minutes.
I don't assume they will react according to my thoughts but they sure as hell wouldn't act the same when all of a sudden they see blinking lights from cops behind.
I did wait for the 3 lanes and not much road so I had to floor past them.
LOL and oh yea, brakes haha.

It's not about you. It may have seemed that way at the time, but it was not.

Nobody can see what is going on around them like you can as a trailing car. Everybody is just going about their business and likely has decades of no tickets or accidents.

You didn't describe the other cars around you how they may have wanted to pass you too. You aren't driving a Corvette or a 911 so you should stay out of the left lane too.

Obviously you are young, but since you own a VT you are probably cool. The "flash to pass" thing only works on the Autobahn and mainly pisses people off in America. There is a way to drive fast and make good time on the highway it is not bullying people and trying to push people apart on the highway. That only causes congestion and gets you caught up in needless dangerous situations. The time to go fast is when the road is open. There is no point in trying to shove your way through clumps of slower cars. It is actually faster to sit back and let them sort themselves out and then resume your high speed driving. You aren't gaining anything by getting mixed up with them and are actually delaying yourself.

You got "brake checked" because you pissed somebody off. Typically if you get brake checked it is because you are being a jerk. The highway is a very dangerous place and the last thing you want to do is put yourself in a situation where you are going to pop your airbags and bend your subframe if some other guy does something you don't expect. And you will not be pleased when you figure out that your insurance doesn't cover your loan amount or the amount that the guy you hit is going to sue you for.

sorry but this post has to be the most useless that I have ever read. Your going to let some idiot potentially cause you to cause an accident because he made you mad?
thus possibly damage your own car and others in the process. What if you slammed on your brakes and caused a pile up and someone got hurt. Then you get sighted for
reckless driving, your insurance goes up and who knows what else. Emotions get the better of us, stupidity works both ways. I say you need to smarten up and QUICKLY

better yet, GROW UP

Hehehe, point of thread:
Just posted to relief that moment of stress, which by the way works tremendously for me just by typing it out.
Useful for me, not for some.
And adding a statement like "GROW UP" wasn't necessary when it could be fired back right at ya.
