Anyone know if its possible to make the Injen air intake quieter? I have the full CAI and I truly love the sound when I get on it, but when doing normal driving I am not a fan of the sound. Just sounds like a huge fan blowing. If I drive like a baby then its dead silent. If I drive it hard then it sounds perfect. Would love to find a way to make it sound different in normal driving if possible.

Overall I DO NOT regret buying it and sure that I can get used to the noise, but would love to change it some if possible.

Anyone have any ideas??

Not unless you out the filter in a box and then make an extension, possibly restricting the flow in the process... or getting a more restrictive filter.also defeating the point of a cai

Yeah I didn't really think there was going to be a way to do it. Think if I do the quick BVP mod that it will change the sound when driving normally, or is it only going to be heard when I let off the gas to shift? Thinking I would only hear it when I let off the gas.

Try to use a different air filter.

I just picked up my Veloster turbo 6 spd manual today. I test drove the torbo before and there was a air intake sound while shifting, but now I don't hear anything. is this normal? Am I missing something here?

I took the intake off and already sold it. I have had an intake on every car I have owned, but non sounded like this. I loved the sound when I hit the gas hard, but during normal driving I didn't like the noise. Yes I could have just kept hitting the gas hard all the time, but them my MPG would suffer and it was not worth it. It was honestly too loud at normal driving for me to even to my voice to text in the car. Once I removed the intake everything worked again. Ended up using that money to lower the car and could not be happier :p

Maybe at some point I will try a different style intake with a different filter and see what I can do. I also feel like I lost some low end grunt with the CAI on. In the higher RPMs it did help out a lot.

Injen Cold Air Intake

I bought the new Injen COLD AIR INTAKE for our Turbo Veloster and the wife says it's way too loud. She says it sounds like the car is going to eat other cars and little children when she's driving it around. I took it off after a week and am looking to sell it cheap to someone who wants their Veloster to sound like a real bad A$$ dinosaur??? Happy wife, happy life. I paid $300 plus delivery for it and I will take $200 or the best offer for it.

I'm not doing squat with my car until spring, but I'm likely going to go with your intake. I just can't remember though, yours is set up to incorporate a BOV right, so I can't run it with just the stock hose setup?

Not to throw this thread off topic or anything lol.

yeah, you won't be able to recirculate the BPV anymore. Not much of a point in recirculating it anyway, especially since we do not have a MAF. It will still be loud because of the snorkel/air box removal.

You will simply remove the bypass hose and run the stocker as atmospheric.

And there isn't anything sensor wise that will throw a code, or be any downside to doing it that way or anything?

nope, no downside, no way to throw a CEL having it vent to the atmosphere..
