Nothing really practical at the moment. Many new phones only output HDMI, so you would need to convert that digital signal to analogue RCA to plug into the Veloster. For now I gave up trying to do it with my S3.

Having said that you could get a HDMI (or MHL to HDMI) cable for your phone (cheapish), plug that into a HDMI to RCA converter box (not so cheap and needs to be powered), then plug the RCA output into the Veloster.

Alright I brought the RCA/HDMI converter box and a new AUX/RCA cable. The Hyundai AUX/RCA cable that are given to us wont connect to the box since the ends are female connectors. The converter box itself has female connectors so that why I had to purchase extra plugs. Hopefully this all will work with the extra $$ I've spent. I will post a video once I get this together.

This is what I did. I got a converter for $36 shipped, a new cable for $4 and I already have the HDMI cables needed for my phone or tablet. Oh and I have a charger with a USB port to power the converter. Good thing the VT has two 12V ports right up front.

As for cable management, I'll figure that out later :p

Well the new cable didn't work out. The red and yellow had to be swapped to get stereo sound but the video never showed, only a flicker once in a while. Currently trying to get my hands on an official Hyundai AV cable.

I've gotten mine to work tho you need the A/V cable that came with the car. it doesn't work right with one of those camcorder cables. The hyundai cable is unique.

Use that cable, an HDMI to RCA converter which is seperately, and an hdmi cable to attach to your phone.

You also have to use ELA USB Interface Installer | Video - Music - Photos - Etc | v1.5.5 | 08.19.2012 to unlock video while driving.

I am using the factory AV cable but like I said earlier it had female connectors. I brought this Amazon.com: Etekcity Mini HDMI to AV Composite RCA CVBS Video + Audio Converter For TV PS3 VHS VCR DVD: Electronics then added a cable that has male connectors to hook up both the factory a/v jack and the converter box jack. What am I'm doing wrong. I just now hook my Kodak HD video camera on hdmi "same plug I use for my phone to the converter box" and it show video with sound in my car headunit with no problem. But when I start plugging the hdmi into my phone it freeze up. But when I hook the hdmi into the phone to the TV hdmi it will only show video from my phone. I have a HTC EVO 4g

Make sure your phone is set to 'mirror display' whenever HDMI is plugged in. my phone has a few different options. I was streaming audio with the phones music player while watching the screen on the nav unit. sounds like a setting on your phone may be the problem there if the camera is working fine.

Alright i got the phone to work. I had to rooted the phone and added new kernels software to get it to mirror to my car. Now is there anyway we could get a clearer picture on the headunit?

nope. the resolution of the screen is 640x480 and the screen on your phone is most likely better than that. if you play any videos through your phone make sure they fit that resolution then it may look a little better. also try playing with the colors or brightness if you can.
