Hello to all who loves bass as much as I do. One thing that hunts us when we want a booming vehicle is that horrible rattling. mainly in the back. I never owned a hatch. Well I have owned a ford explorer and it was bad. I have a 93 accord and I just have one ten, well its a Toby Sheriff so to everyone else it's like MOST pairs of Direct radiating 12'' Subwoofers. and it's horrible. I am embarrased to turn my radio up because it sounds horrible back there. But for this new car, my new VT will only strive the best. And for that I will be acquiring a Toby Outlaw MKI and produces -3db @ 40HZ. And for those of you that have no clue, just know its amazing LOW bass notes.

Has anyone here that has added extra bump to your VT have any problems with rattling. If so what have you done or what do you think should be done? I don't want to gut the car and dynamat the entire care. I am not going to competition. I just want to hit the major issues where there is rattling and have no major rattle.

I have a Kenwood KAC-8105D and two 10" Rorkford Fosgate subs in an enclosed box, it's enough boom to make your hair tingle and I haven't noticed any rattles. I am going to Dynamat the backend just to push that bass a tiny bit more, not because of rattles.

2-12'' alpine dvc's in a single ported infinity slipstream box paired with hifonics amp puts out plenty of block shaking bass off of the stock power system with almost no dimming. More powerful system than that and you will need to upgrade your big 3. as for the rattles... every car is different, the one thing that will definitely vibrate is the sunglasses flip down , i fixed it ez with some foam insulation tape, other than that I hear nothing rattling inside the car which is most important. No license plate rattle either. You will get a little noise from the rear wiper which bounces when your bass is on "kinda cool" and a little low pitch buzz from the hatch. I don't know if dynamat will help at all, i don't use the garbage. you will have to drive with the bass on for a few weeks before you will be able to pop the hatch and see where the pieces rub together by looking for vibration wear marks. Then put a piece of insulation there and you will have no buzz. Had many cars with large systems , and this car is by far the cleanest sounding least buzzing one yet. Definitely not going to sound like a trash can banging down the street like my Subaru did. Hope this helps. PM if you got any other questions. old pic before i blew the infinitys up Land vehicle Vehicle Car Bumper Automotive lighting

Man guys that is great news. I know these new cars are build better. But I never owned a new car lol so this will be a whole new experience.

That is going to be awesome to not worry about rattling when bassing out. And seeing that it's a hatch made me worry a lot. When I had my explorer the back hatch was moving back and forth (closed) like as though someone was in the back kicking the back hatch from the inside. It sucked. I had the Toby Ranger. Man that box was amazing. but the suv sucked donkey balls. And the Toby Outlaw being even better, I only hope a new car hatch back would never act like my old explorer did.

To clarify, I was talking about the rattling from the outside mainly. Dcannon203 you did great in specifying all the little problematics you found after adding your bass. BTW your set up is super tight.

Also, a question for you Dcannon203, you mentioned "almost no dimming". you have a hifonic, what amp do you have. I am going to mate my Outlaw with the Alpine MRX-M110. I don't know how much power you are producing, but I will be at a single coil 4 ohms pushing it at about 650 RMS. I just want to compare it to your since you are not dimming. I don't want to have to add a cap. I was told I probably don't have to. but idk man.

I used a PAC line-out converter off of the stock sub wiring and pluged my RCA's for my amp to the new sub into this.
