So I noticed that the button to open the hatch doesn't work for ky VT. Has anyone else had this problem? All mine does when I hold it is flash the hazards a couple times. I've tried it both locked and unlocked and gotten the same results...

You hold the button down and it unlocks the trunk only - it doesn't have an automatic lift-gate.

Ohh ok so it just unlocks it, that makes more sense. Thanks!

it would be so nice if it unlocked it though!
wishful thinking.... I guess perhaps when the next gen VT comes out with automatic folding mirrors then we might have an automatic trunk opener... that is again wishful thinking. The reality is that before something cool like this hits the VT it would have to be placed on the Genesis before anything.

Proximity key. I lock and unlock by pressing the little button on either door handle. I programmed the car to unlock both doors with one press.
The trunk is the same, I walk up and press the catch and it automatically unlocks.

How do you program the car to open both with one press? I do lock it and unlock it with the button but didn't know I could set it to unlock both. Wife always complains that I am not quick enough to unlock her door.

It makes no sense if you ask me... click the unlock button twice and it unlocks the hole car... stand next to the door and with keyless you can still open the door.... so again it makes no sense to me to have that button if you ask me.
Having the button allows you to unlock just the hatch if you need it. Makes sense to me.

On the steering wheel, press and hold Trip. The center display will change to show a variety of options including the lock/unlock features.
To add to that, make sure it is in ACC mode only. Once u active that menu, u change a few other things like headlight escort, three blinker, auto door locking etc... Oh and reset oil change intervals if the dealer forgot to do it

I thought my fob trunk button was broken! It's a good thing I read this.

I have to say. I wish we could hold the unlock button and the windows would go down. My pathfinder did it and my girlfriend's Altima coupe does it.

When I had my GTI, there was a OBD II thing that you could buy for like 30 bucks that would when you plugged it in, wait a few secs, and when finished you could roll everything down and back up. We need that. :)

There is
Shark Racing
and for the roof too
Shark Racing

Because of the way the proxi key works, you dont even need to press any buttons. The doors and hatch will unlock with a touch of their buttons as long as the key is near. The hatch of the VT is far too heavy to pop open and lift on it own, so that function doesnt work like in many other car. My Genesis pops open a few inces and my old Elantra would open almost fully.
