Hey I was wondering how everyone's Veloster Turbo is holding up on the roads. My car only has 444 miles, and today on the highway I heard the pop sound and I knew what to expect just didn't want to believe it. I checked my car once I got to my destination and saw it. The damage was done on the bumper but to the side like close to the fender. I've attached a picture of it and circled where the damage has been done Land vehicle Vehicle Car Hyundai veloster Automotive design

Honestly, I think its about the size of this line __ but because my car is really bright therefore its really noticeable. I'm very upset because I don't tailgate and I think it happened when I was on the 2nd lane and someone was turning to exit and did it kind of late so they went into the emergency lane and I guess they manage to kick w/e chipped my paint. Needless to say I was planning on getting my clear bra done but now its like... should I anyways or just deal with it and get it repainted then clear bra. I mean, I now have more options now because I wasn't going to buy the front bumper without the grill but I may consider that now. What would you guys do and let's talk about how well your front end is turning out with the amount of miles you've driven already.

Chips are bound to happen sooner or later. Mine already has one on the rear, just below the rear camera, smack in the center of the view, and I am reminded of it every time I go on reverse. It comes shining through the rear view. How did I get it? I really don't know, but I suspect the car wash did it, even though it is a fabric car wash, not the plastic ones. But hey, that's the way it goes. More depressing things in life than a chip.

I've already got at least 4-5 small chips and even have one on the passenger rear door o_O yeah.. i don't know...

I DO know that these cars don't seem to have been QA/QC'd very well.. there is over a handful of little things that really urk me, from paint finishing, body finishing and different gaps between panels.. oiii..

My 2001 Tiburon was put together and factory painted MUCH MUCH better than this car. Before I had it resprayed I had hardly any blemishes anywhere on the car and only a couple rock chips.. and that was at around 40 THOUSAND miles..

on that note, I will never take my car to a drive through car wash and will only touch the car when I wax it.. other than that it will be the .25 wash, and only spraying soap/water/etc then air dry..

I would hand wash my car but where I live it is prohibited by the association. Which sucks, but I understand why. I don't pay water, so I can't wasted either on washing my car. I do take it to a group of guys that do hand washing and they are good and cheap: $12.

A gravel truck got in front of me a few days ago and hit a bump. I heard the ting ting ting all over though I had already slowed down to get some space. I haven't found a chip yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few somewhere.

Since driving around the 400's in the GTA is like driving behind a gravel truck all year round I went with the LLumar Invisible Paint Protection Film for the hood, fenders, bumper, headlights, fog lights, and mirrors. Even got a bonus as they also istalled it in the trunk lip.

I'm waiting for the mud guards to come in.

Where did you get it done and what was the cost?

PureAuto in Mississauga PureAuto - Mississauga and Toronto tint, stone guard and detail automotive services. $600 plus tax with a 5 year warranty. They picked my VT at work in the morning and brought it back early afternoon.

Ask for Mark and mention that you heard of this price from the owner of the Vitamin C VT they worked on last Wednesday Sept 12. They did a very good tint job in my car at the dealership before delivery and that's why I contacted them for the paint protection.
