Hey all, this is my first post on the turbo site.

I ordered a Battleship Grey and should be taking delivery on the next month.

Just wanted to get an idea on what everyone does for run in these days (if anything)?

It's will be our first new car and want to take it for a long drive but have never had to run in a vehicle.

Any tips/hints/do's or don't from others who are experienced in new cars would be appreciated!

Keep the revs below 4k, easy on the brakes and vary engine speed for extended trips. All this till 600 miles on the odometer.
I changed the oil and filter @ 1200 miles.

The owner's manual says that there is no official break-in period but recommends that you don't floor it, rev above 4k rpm, maintain a constant rpm and idle for more than 2 minutes for the first 600 miles.

The ECU definitely limits the motor at first, but it is unclear how that works. My experience is like a lot of others - the power increases and the motor revs more freely after 600, 1,200 and 3,000 miles.

Your first oil change is also a matter of much discussion. According to the manual you should go 3,750 miles before your first oil change. But your first batch of oil will get sludged with metal bits from your bearings breaking in after only 1,000 miles. It is not clear whether this is part of the break-in period or if you should change your oil prematurely to get rid of this material. My VT began to run rough(er) after about 2,750 miles and that is when I did my first oil change. That oil change made it run a lot better. Looking back I'd probably have done my first oil change at about 2,000 miles.
