Short Throw Shifter?

There is a current shifter on the market that replaces the stock stick... not a bad idea but they are $200. We don't like to build just stick's... we build complete shifter assembly's.

Building a complete assembly allows you to get greater control of the overall shift feel and gives you end control of how much throw reduction you add to the shifter.

Would you be interested in a Short Throw Shifter?

Post up if you would and we will get started on the design.

Thanks,

John

John or Gina can you please hold one for me to be shipped back with my other product pls/thx ;)
We have many more coming in next week, we will be sure to have extras on the shelf for you guys!
So he biggest thing holding me back is the stock reverse lock out. Can it ordered to be like a standard one and use an aftermarket knob

It would be easy to defeat the reverse lock out, problem... there is a liability with doing this. If for some reason (yes it will happen) a customer clicks the car into reverse while moving forward we will be held liable for the damages or the accident it causes.

If we get enough interest in making a shifter knob for the car, I will dive into this and make it happen. I don't want to spend 20 hours and $1000 dollars getting a shift ball done only to sell two or three of them.

i bet if you could get the knob to work with the stock shifter and your short shifter you could make the money back. there is alot of people i hear saying they want a new knob (lol thats dirty) but there are no options out there.
I'd like a new knob... I think it just adds to some more personalization in the car which is always nice to have.. I'm not saying I would drop a ton of money of just a new shifter, but if they were reasonable I'd be interested.. He asked if their was interest so I'm just putting in my 2 cents
If we were to make a new shift knob, it would be priced at $130 to $150. There are some complications with making it work with the reverse lock out and holding the factory shift cover/boot in place.

I will take a look at this again, maybe whip up a few and see how they sell.
Something similar to what the recent pics of the r-spec show would be nice. Im not the biggest fan of how the stock shift knob looks.
the r-spec knob looks like the knob from my friends old 04 tiburon.
Please don,t waste time on "KNOBS" just stay focused on tunes and things that make us go faster / better. Let people who want KNOBS get shit like that and air fresheners at pep boys/ wallmart etc.

wont be on for a little while cause my car is in the shop :[ some guy hit me on the freeway =/

but Tork 1 question will you be doing a DIY guide? it looks simple enough to me but id like to be sure it looks like i gotta take off the center consol thing then the 4bolts and replace but am i missing any steps that may make this complicaitng? aha
Is there any sort of core exchange. If Hyundai is planning on upping the price on the stock piece you might be able to keep costs down for people willing to send back their stock shifter.

I do have some pictures taken that I need to load up. I will see if I can find them.

Pretty much yes. Pull the center console, remove shifter, reverse install the items an you are done. Shouldn't take more than a hour with basic hand tools.

We are looking into this.
Installed the short shifter today and man do I love it!!! It's still breakin in so to a little stuff but I also put in te twm bushing too so now it feels completely amazing

Only can about it is that I have to reuse the old boot cause the one that came with the short shifter is too small for some reason but all in all perfect and I love it :)

Sorry about the shifter boot thing. We are still trying to get Hyundai to give us an actual production date for when they made that change.

Its good to hear you got it installed. Keep us posted on the shift quality as you get the shifter broken in.

Thanks,

John
John,
Got mine installed last night. Probably the easiest thing I have installed so far. Still getting use to it but love it. Are you guys doing a core return on the original? If so would love to put it towards my tune when I get my spare ECU.
