I recently purchased a 2014 VT with minor sideswipe damage, the worst of which is this gap in the side trim piece. I’d like to fix it obviously, but I don’t know the best way to go about it. It doesn’t look like the clip is broken, but the hole it goes into just won’t hold it any longer. In addition, I also want to paint the whole piece. I was thinking if I removed the whole thing, it would be easier to both paint and apply more 3M tape to hold it in around that spot. I can’t find any info on how to actually go about removing it though. Any opinions on how to proceed?

held in by clips and some could be broken. If you can't DIY then see if a body shop can help.
