Can't wait to see the results after the head gasket and studs!

E85 here the other day was $2.379 and 93E10 was $3.779! But I been running it since 2017. You know, back when I knew you couldn't run higher E on a tune not meant for E..... :)

Welp. Got the car back. Here's some pics of the block while it was apart.

Been through 4 or 5 revisions since Friday. Current struggle is trying to find the right limiter to turn off to make more boost. still only making around 24-25psi so we're not seeing really anymore power atm.

Next idea is throwing in a manual boost controller if we can't tackle it with tuning. But we'll see. I'm not in a rush now because I did the "hard part"... my poor bank account :')

Tested the MBC today. MBC before EBCS. Lol hated it. the car doesn't feel good at all, boost all over, didn't get into it at all.

This content is about a video or so behind lol.


As you may know, I got stranded 2hrs away from home. Seems like the turbo seals failed on the new turbo. So I sent it back. Josh sent me a new one that should get here in a few hours. Gonna get the car up and running by the weekend. N75 has a new revision for me once I'm good to go, so we can try to make some more power. Bought a motorcycle. October has been a doozy...

So, another set of problems.

  • Alot of turbo shaft play, big whine, metal sludge in pipe indicate another turbo going out of the door
  • Getting a 60mm TB from a friend
  • Moved the Tial BOV off of the solenoid and onto the Intake Manifold, needed a new 11psi spring to sit happily. Sounds alot better and works well
Lol love being riddled with problems. The nice part is the motorcycle makes having car problems less stressful. Downside is it's hard to be excited about fixing problems, when you're still paying off broken parts :).

Carvana offered me 11.6k for my 11k car. 10k for a z900? Hmm I wonder lol.

When it's raining or cold you'll appreciate a cage as the motorcycle guys call a car.
Z900 is a pretty sweet ride so the choice is a good one if you choose that route. 🤙

Haha I haven't been out when it's raining yet, but with the car down, I guess I won't have a choice!

I've been out on what's probably going to be about as cold as it gets in Florida low 50's. Lol going to need different gloves for those days because mine let in too much air 🥶🥶

Haha Im already sold on the z900. It's just a matter of how I'm going to get it. I was going to pay off this car then get that. But now I'm flirting with the other option 😅

Not related to the car but...

So for the past 2 months of having the bike. Most of my driving has been to work and back. Maybe to go get some food. But largely, 20mins in either direction.

With my car being back out of commission, I decided the only way to get to South Florida this weekend was by bike. Wasn't sure about the road worthiness of this bike given that it's definitely a beater. But I figured the chain and sprocket wouldn't blow up on me in the next 300 miles so Yolo.

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! This was my first time on the highway, since I don't need it for work. Msf does not prepare you for the amount of wind you're going to experience. Getting blown around my lane took a little getting used to! Leaving central Florida was a little scary at first because of all the Disney traffic. But after getting past the crowds and when the road opens up... This is what America is about lol. Open roads and two wheels!

Now, I'm used to a year or 2 of road biking so my butt has seen worse. My ride was just under 2 hours so it wasn't horrible. Stopped in the middle for gas. The stock seat is pretty comfy, I wouldn't want to ride for more than 2 hours though without a significant break. Which is pretty much the limit of my attention span in the car anyway so that works out.

Ended up tucking for alot of the ride because of the wind, especially since the flow of traffic is about 80+. And on i75 it's about 90 the whole time. So I was pretty close between 6k and 8k in 6th for most of the ride. I couldn't imagine doing this trip on a 300 or 250. At my 225lbs, I barely had the kind of passing power I'm used to with my hot hatch.

Running into groups of riders on the way back was fun, I doubt they noticed I was trying to tag along at the back since my poor 500 is screaming along at 9k compared to whatever they were on. I'm pretty sure the guy in the front had to be on a litre bike because the way he was passing cars was effortless 😂.

Overall that was super fun and I can't wait to get the chance to do it again soon! It's definitely informed my decision of getting a z900 in the future. As much fun as it would be to have a zx10r, I really enjoy the naked bike look and ergo. Plus 98% of my driving is in 40mph for 20 minutes so the extra hp would be wasted on me haha

not bad not bad. my tiny buell is absolutely terrible on the highway. trying to upgrade to a ulysses but finding them is super tough.

My measley 400 with it's 45hp isn't the fastest either but it certainly can cruise the highway if needed. Being such a light weight bike the wind can play havoc as anyone riding two wheels finds out. 😆

I was fortunate to have the VTR1000 first and the 400 second so when the 1000 is finally up and running I'll have a choice of which bike to use.
Longer trips involving highway Ill take the VTR but for track and local the baby Ninja is more than happy to put a smile on my face.

Good to see others here having a backup transportation that's as enjoyable as their caged rides. 😉😁😍

I was looking into Buell, kinda wish there was an American sportsbike still around, the only really option are all EVs now. Which is also cool.

Lol yeah I was caught completely by surprise with the wind 😅. But it makes driving the cage feel brain dead in comparison 😂

I think im going to get a chance to try my friends fz1 soon so that is probably going to ruin everything for me 😂

Finally put her back together and fired her up. Gonna do some boost leak tests either tomorrow or Tuesday. Clean off all the dirt then finally take her off the jack stands.

Just in time for some expensive gas prices :)
