I thought about creating this new post instead of keep posting on a previous I had about getting a Genesis. I ended up selling the VT but I bought a 2.5 Mazda Hatchback insead.

OMG ... I am exhausted! Not only physically, but mentally. I used to work for a dealer (IT department) and forgot how pushy these people can be. It was horrible! To the point that almost yell at one manager. You really need to know about amortization and math or they will screw you over, big time!

I really would like to tell the whole history now, it's even funny, but I will do it tomorrow instead. I am too tired.

For now, let me post the numbers, in case someone is curious about it.

I gave my VT as trade in. The price was 18500 (initial offer was 15k). I paid 28k for the 2.5 Mazda 3s, Grand Touring. Initial offer was 30100. I had equity on my Veloster Turbo so I ended financing around 25k, so it was a sweet deal.

I'll miss the VT. I even had more compliments today than ever before, just after I waxed the car past Sunday, how ironic. But I love how the Mazda drives. With the exception of the navigation screen, I love everything about the new Mazda.

I'll leave you guys for now, will tell my whole adventure tomorrow, if someone is interested anyway.

That is really interesting, I got rid of my 2011 Mazda 3 hatchback 6 M/T for the VT. I can't believe how the Mazda gone up in price. I paid 18,200 for a new 167hp '11 Mazda 3S hatch 6 M/T (edit I did not have the Grand Touring package), now they want 30k!!! I been at the Mazda dealership 3 times in 2013 for repairs... at least they were under warranty. Be it for stupid stuff like the hatch not opening and a nasty smell coming from the AC when it was turned on... still, 30k I'd pass, the VT cost me $20,7xx. Honesty for 30k Genesis Coupe is a much better car.

But hey you seem happy with the 3, to give Mazda credit, they do handle very very good for a FWD. Did you consider a Mazdaspeed 3?

I am curious as to why you didn't keep the VT.

But yes I am interested in the ordeal.

FYI guys, why is everyone leaving us? the VT is bad A man!
I am not leaving the forum! ;-) ...unless you guys don't want me here, lol ... I sold my fz6r like two years ago and still I post on that forum.

Now, I am not going to bash the car, and I actually like the car's look, but it is not the right car for me, period! Mine was not a lemon, was just not the right car for my taste and personality. Something I could not find during initial test ride, few months ago.

Few things I do not like about the VT:

-Stock suspension (too soft)
-Cornering
-Low mpg on city traffic (granted, still better than my Speed6, previous car)
-Stereo and speakers

Now, I know some or most can be fixed via mods, but I am not willing to do it. Even after mods it won't make the car handle the way the new Mazda does. That's just a fact.

Is the Mazda 3 unique? no! ... I see tons of Mazdas out there (however, have not seen 1st 2.5 Mazda 3 GT in my area). My Speed6 was though. But I really want to feel and enjoy what I drive and that's something I was not getting with the VT, regardless of how hard I tried.

But I am going to miss the VT. If I had enough money, I would keep it, but I don't. It's rare, unique, peppy and with a nice design. Backed up by a forum community like this, which can be extremely useful and handy at times.

I respectfully disagree. This is my 4th Mazda and never had issues with any of them. Maybe I got lucky?

By the way, that price was for the GT, which includes collision detection system, auto brake, sunroof, leather seats, double climate system, and much more. When you add, is actually more car inside.

But like I said, I won't bash the VT. It is a nice looking car with lot of torque, it just does not handle the way I like and want.

I really like the direction Mazda is taking to all of its newer vehicles. The design appeals to me. When I first saw the new Mazda 3 hatch I couldn't help admire it.

At least you're going from one neat car to another. G'luck!

I think you can not fully grasp the VT until you add the correct mods to make handle the way it could. The vt has TONS of potential. I think the VT is great for someone who mods cars. But if you plan to keep it stock and do not mind the short comings, then sure the VT is great. But if you do not plan on modding the VT, I think you will desire more than what it originally can offer.

I like the inside features, but the body doesn't tickle my fancy. That aside congrats on finding a car that you enjoy.

Mazda needs redesign bad imo on a lot of their cars. Not aggressive enough to me nor do they stand out. But I like cars that aren't normal

Someone sold their VT and didn't get a mustang!! :haha:

I've always been a fan of mazda's and subaru's. I've just never pulled the trigger on either. Always thrown off by their interior but i really like the design of both cars. Mazda knows how to make em, the community does seem a bit rough (when i looked up speed3 forums when i was contemplating one). As long as it works out for you man, it's all that matters!
