Speaker install help

I have the front driver speaker out and I got the 1" spacer that I saw was needed from another thread. When I hold the spacer up to the hole in the door it seems about 1/2 inch too small. The spacer fits the speaker perfect. The speakers came with some other pieces but I'm not sure if any of these are to be mounted before the spacer. Any help is appreciated. Any help with +/- colors, I have orange wire and a blue wire with black stripe.

As for the spacer, you'll probably have to choose one hole to align with and drill new holes for the other three.

I used some thin sheet metal I picked up at Lowes or Tractor Supply. Covered the factory hole completely and cut a new hole in the piece I installed. I fastened the metal to the door with some sheet metal screws. I just cut the hole in the new metal the same size as the inner dimension of the spacer.

Wow, that's is a great idea I will remember that for future installs. Fortunately after some measuring and test fitting I was able to use the factory spacer. Measuring from the back of the spacer the factory spkr was about 2 1/8" deep. The new replacement speaker was only 1 3/4 deep. I did have to notch a the spacer to pass the wire from the crossover. I didn't want it hanging behind the spkr. I used some double stick tape and it is now next to the speaker. Something like the pic below
