Sport Mode is definitely the way the go, I will point one thing that annoys me about it though. Let's say your at a complete stop right and your in D and you pop it in Sport Mode. As soon as you go it controls the first few shifts for you until your next stop. Then you have full control of being able to red line if you want. As CGH has pointed out, it does still shift you by default which is not want I want. This kind of sounds like a bug to me because the idea of sport mode is that you have the manual ability to shift when you please.

Hi I use the sport mode a few times and I can get around it by just tapping the down shift paddle, and taking it from sport mode to manual on 1st gear. Then you have full control.

Just got mine yesterday, Sports Mode is the way to go. I have noticed it will shift for you by default or you can go to the paddle shifters for more fun.
As long as you don't press the paddles, it will shift for you but in sports mode. Hit the paddles and you are in control. It is fun!

You know, I thought about that... but I did it the other way around and brought it to second and back down to first. Lol, hilarious because I never thought of the idea of just paddling down instead of up.

It is just like stick, but with safety built into it, that you will not be able to shift down into 2nd from 5. Or shift into 6th from 5th, and your speed is under 40 mph.
