Hi! Picking up my 2013 Veloster Turbo next week and I'm just wondering what everyone has done for upgrades around here?

I'm getting 5% tint all around, order a K&N drop in until I can afford a proper CAI (suggestions appreciated) and am rebadging the front/back and wheels.

I saw some BOV posts, is that a fairly popular upgrade? What are the advantages? Who makes a good one? What other tinkering with the turbo?

I've had VW's with Audi powertrains in the past, both with turbos and in both cases APR did a software upgrade for the ECU that gave me 25% & 30% power gains by remapping fuel/air mixture and boost pressure. Is there a reputable company doing something similar for Hyundai's?

What are people doing suspension wise?

I'm lucky to live in Alberta where there is no front license plate so I'm sad to see that crappy black square on the front grill. Any good aftermarket grills out there?

Any feedback appreciated. I'll do some trolling and see what else I can pickup!

Cheers!
Chris

Welcome, If you do a quick search you should be able to find all the info that you want. Remember the saying "give a man an answer and he will be ok for a day, teach a man how to find the answer he will be good forever".

searching is your friend .. that being said.. vendors on here have options for most of the important things.. bolt ons definitely give this car a boost in power.. and coilovers are greatly helpful, do those as well as a set of kuhmo 4x's and you'll probably be a happy camper

Since you're sort of in between jobs, I say don't go for our headlights, but change the interiors to LED. And the reflectors. From anyone, doesn't matter, but as a practical standpoint, the interiors are cheap to kind of expensive (depending where you purchase them from) but the reflectors (only from us) make a difference in overall looks and to an extent, safety...even though they're somewhat low to the ground.

Chris, I just picked up my VT on Saturday. The first thing for me has to be exhaust. I just bought a SOLO. You can see it on veloster.org. It sounds awesome. You can also search for SOLO on here to see the vids.

Save yourself some money and keep the stock box and run this with the flap in the bottom of the air box removed and the resonator removed from the top half. K&N drop in's are a waste of time.

Grab a Solo cat back and a Piercemotorsports VT One strut brace.

What badges are you going with?

The stylized V's (Korean Auto Imports)

Is there a post explaining the airbox hack you referenced or is it pretty simple?

Thanks!!!

Welcome to the forums. We have seen some very impressive gains with just minor bolt-on's. As soon as we have our vendor section up I will be posting all the before and after dyno results, stay tuned.

Yeah there is a link somewhere on here about the air box. I know I saw it once but can't remember where it was.
