I was rolling down I-85 at about 80mph - which is normal - and all of a sudden I see a lot of debris and a piece of something that looks like a piece of cardboard flip up behind a car in front of me. I checked my mirrors quickly but before I could decide to make an emergency lane change this 2x3 foot thing hits my nose - hard. My passenger immediately says, "That wasn't cardboard, I felt it hit in my feet.".
Ugggh.
When I pulled on to the off ramp a friendly motorist rolled her window down and told me I had a big piece of plywood stuck in my grill.
Great.
When I pulled in to the first parking lot the piece of plywood was gone and there was no damage to the nose. There were a few scuffs and shards of wood collected in the bottom of the nose. We hit the scuffs with some windshield cleaner and a microfiber cloth and they disappeared. We cleared out the shards and inspected the mechanical stuff and got back on the road.
The nose can take a beating!
