I am in the Charlotte, NC area and LOVE my Matte Gray finish. I actually love the fact that I don't need to wax the car. Also it hides dirt almost too well I think. I have had no issues with the paint thus far. I get tons of looks, and love it :)

Here is what it looks like with new rims on it:

Still need to get it lowered and get some window tint, but might wait till spring time to do all of that.

Car looks good man, especially after seeing the rims online. I washed mine for the first time today. Its really not that bad. I also did the sealant, which is pretty straight forward. What have you all been using on your windows and on the wheels?
just got my exLED full headlights and plasti-dipped sequence front lip on, LEDs all around, and DD 6000K HIDs. i'll take pics later this afternoon!
I actually wash the wheels with the same stuff as I clean the car with, just use a different sponge. I also wash the tires last, then empty/clean the bucket for my next wash. As for the windows I just use normal window cleaner, but instead of spraying it on the window I spray it on the towel only. This way no over spray will accidently get on the paint. I also tend to wipe the car down every other day with the spray finisher. I ended up buying extra micro fiber towels to match the 2 that you get with the kit. I think I have a total of 10 now. Once I use them all I wash them all together with nothing else.

jxjjang, can't wait to see pics!

I use plain ammonia-free glass cleaner on the windows and Dr. Beasley's Premium Wheel Cleanser with sponge on the wheels. I don't want to use a brush since they're clear coated I think.
I think you're right about the clear on the wheels

Question to all, is it safe to plasti dip? I want to do emblems and badges, and you have to overspray for it to cut right. Please let me know as I plan on doing this tomorrow.
I've only had my vt for 2 1/2 days, so I haven't had to clean it yet. The vt was in the dealers showroom surrounded with 4 road cones with yellow caution tape and "Do Not Touch" signs. When I purchased the vt, they cleaned it right there in the showroom with their own cleaner. I was told it is a split of 50/50 water and alcohol, just what the manufacture suggest. I received a new, unused kit when I left the dealership with my vt and they gave me a 5 gallon bucket with: dirt seperatetor, wash mit, sponge and a couple of micro fiber towels. The technician told me to be sure and NOT clean the car with circular motions, only left to right motions, be sure to keep towel wet as well as the area being cleaned. To top it off, he gave me his half full cleaner bottle and the micro towel. Thanks Courtesy Hyundai in RI! I also received a multi-page document printout about the matte paint care. The manager told me that he was under the impression that there were only 4 matte gray vt's in New England. How nice, I love exclusivity.

I just finished my badges last week. I had no issues. I also removed the veloster badge on the back with fishing wire.

I first used blue painters tape and taped around the emblem. Then took newspaper and taped it on the tape around the emblem to reduce the over spray. Overall it was pretty easy. I used a tooth pick when needed to lift the corners up to help peel it away.

You can also remove the rear emblem if you want as its held on with double sided tape. Just take some fishing wire and go slowly and it will come off. Best to try and pull more on the emblem back than press on the car side.

The front was very easy. I just put a few pieces of newspaper behind the grill to catch and major over spray. Taped around the badge again, and sprayed away.

Wonderful this is what I needed to know. Did you use plasti dip? Also I see from the picture you taped around the edges of the emblem, where you able to peel off the four interior parts or did you just leave it all sprayed?
Yeah I used plasti-dip for this. I was originally going to leave the interior pieces black, but decided to start peeling it away. Well I ran into a small snag when doing so, and it didn't peel away as clean as I would have liked. So I actually ended up taking the emblem off and paining it that way. It took a little bit of time to get the emblem off as its double sided pretty well. I just went slowly with fish string making sure all the "pull" pressure was on the emblem side. Once off I was able to re-plasti dip it, and stick it back on. If I had to do it over again and wanted the center pieces not to be painted I would just take the emblem off.

Did you use a heat gun at all? Just fishing line? Also when you put the emblems back on what did you use, just regular 3M automotive tape? What did you use to clean the existing adhesive?

Sorry for all the questions, but I figured I'd ask since you did it.
Comes together very nicely, nice color match. I might just have to get those HIDs now...

Nope no heat gun, just the fishing wire. If you make sure you "pull" towards the emblem when doing this the double sided tape can be re-used. Basically once the fishing line had gone through the whole emblem I was able to pull it off by hand. Painted the emblem, then was able to just push back on the emblem with the original double sided tape. It is holding just fine, and I have tried pulling it off and its not moving.

Did you tape off so that when you reapplied the badges they would be in the correct spot or is their guidance lines or holes behind the badges?
There are 2 little holes that will align the badge up correctly. truthfully it was easier to tape the thing and spray than it was using fishing wire. The double sided tape the factory uses if VERY strong. It took me about 15 - 20 minutes to use the fishing wire, vs 5 minutes to tape around the badge. Either way will work, just take your time.
