During my test drive of the VT, I tried a dead stop take off with TC off. The take off is noticeably faster, however you WILL get tire squeal with the OEM tires. It will be helpful to get a stickier set of tires when doing this. Test drive was with the A/T.

I'm looking to throw on some 225/40/18 Kumho Ecsta 4X or General GMAX AS03, not sure if I'm going to run the OEM into the ground first or not.

After my wreck in my Gen Coupe I always turn the traction control off as soon as the vehicle is started. I saw the guy coming up behind me really fast while sitting at a traffic light with nothing coming and went to get out of the way, barked the tires, traction control kicks in and my ass end gets wrecked. If it would have been off I would have gotten out of the way no problem. Mine was a '11 so it didn't have the 3 setting TC of the '13 Gens....I shake my fist at you Hyundai.

Oh god yes, I tried to accelerate quickly with it on and i thought the car was broken. the tires weren't even close to chirping, then I remembered that it was on and cutting all my power. It freaked me out . I would keep it off unless it is raining or snowing TBH.

Turning off TC certainly will help. But even with TC off and high performance tires, the wheel hops is still a serious problem.

I just did that today and I was able to chirp my tire going from first to second gear and I was probably around 5000 rpms. Wasn't even trying to chirp my tires either. This was with my TC on.

Finally got my summer tires, steering feels much better no more center dead spot. Traction as been improved too, in first and second gears, the car pulls a little bit harder with less tire chirping.

I have noticed a quicker and smoother acceleration with the TC off. I have, chirped my tires in first and second with TC on and off. I do try to turn it off whenever i am in the car. I mainly plan to use it the Chicago winter.
