Thought about asking forum folks why they "pulled the trigger" and bought the VT ... ;-) ...

I am going 1st ...

-Was looking for an AT car, sporty looking, not too big, that wife could drive (she does not drive MT)
-Saving gas, if possible <-- bonus reason, not the main one

I got rid of my 08 Honda Pilot about 6 months prior because it wasnt really necessary (no kids, didnt travel very often). So I didnt really get rid of it for a VT. But the main reasons I got the VT were how great it was on gas and how it only required 87. Plus the value to dollar ratio is outstanding. A GTI with as many features as a VT with ultimate and auto was about 6-7 grand more. But now I keep eying the genesis 2.0t premium....must....resist!

wife made me trade in the jeep for something more gas efficient...

went with the vt because it had the best hp/mpg ratio, and had a rear door for the kid...not to mention the great value.

My G35 wasn't family friendly... :p, wanted to get something more tame, with more than 2 doors, and with some potential. next best thing to a hot hatch was a 3 door hatch Lol

also 16-18 mpg / premium only was becoming a pain! although i've been putting premium in the VT anyways, but i'm definitely getting more than 16... old habits i suppose.

It's hard to give two. Because a lot of things all came together at once to send me car shopping.

1. My previous car was out of warranty and had all sorts of small expensive repairs that needed to be made. These repairs were more than I owed and creeping close to the value of the car.

2. I started a new job making more money, but going from working from home to an hour commute each way. I wanted a warranty and something comfortable and enjoyable to drive since I'd be in the car a lot more. Also my road tripping increased dramatically with the climbing guiding.

1st reason was I inherited an Accent from the wife. I couldnt wait for the lease to end and give it back!!
2nd it has everything I have ever wanted in a car... great looks, all the tech toys, excellent HP, fun daily driver, 3rd door for the kids, all that at the perfect price point. <=== who could ask for anything more??

At the age of 44 I purchased my first brand new car, a 2012 Ford focus SE hatch. I loved everything about the car, interior, handling and the sync package. Although there was a slight flutter with the engine I couldn't live with. It felt like a clogged injector or fuel filter. Long story short, I pursue with the CT lemon law, and as it seems like everything in my life that didn't go in my favor.
Then all in all, I wound up with a new Hyundai Veloster turbo, so I guess things have really worked out this time!

My daily was a lowered 2000 standard cab sb S10...was fine for me & my 3 year old, but when my son came along last August I needed more room. I was planning to get a Sonata but I saw the VT on the lot was sold.

1-Family expansion
2-Wanted a sporty small car that could carry us all

1. Saw NA online and fell in love at first sight....then was crushed in a good way by the announcement of the VT which made me wait impatiently for a year....couldn't be happier I waited....

2. Wife started driving to school and it required us to get a second car. So what better choice ;-)

1- Tired of driving a gas guzzling Jeep with no options and a basic interior. Also tired of the ritual I went thru every spring 'summerizing' it by removing full doors, rear seats, carpets, and hardtop .. then fitting half doors & sliders, rear rack, trunk box, windcheater, and installing the soft top (which always stayed down) .... only to have to do it all in reverse to 'winterize' it 5 or so months later. I really got tired of coming out of work and finding it had rained (or was still raining) and then getting wet all the way home. I didn't drive it enough for pleasure to make use of it as a convertible.

2- A buddy of mine bought a NAV (I'd never seen one before) and I fell in love with the styling and gizmos. I knew then I had to have a VT.
So really I bought it to save gas and drive something that looked good and went well.
