I shouldnt be asking, but I think most will explore at some point anyhow...

Anyone tried to find the max mph in thier VT yet? Is there an electronic governor?

I ask only because my last vehicle was a 2004 Ford Ranger 3.0 and it was electronically limited to 92 mph... which was a drag sometimes if you really needed to be somewhere fast. We do a lot of interstate travel around here.

I test IT to 228km/h- 230km/h or 141-143mph in 5th gear
I did a run last night. Didn't want to blow it up sooo I ended my pull in 6th. Gear was fading out right at 132mph. :/ My friend was thinking that it was limited by air/fuel mapping as we did not feel any "cutting out" or fuel shutoff.
Next time I'm going to try in 5th and see if I can get a peak at the 140+ mentioned by VTMARS.

How did it feel at those speeds? Planted, shaky, light (as in too much air under the car)?
For me it was solid and felt good up until about 125... then it started feeling a little light on the tires and I didn't have a lot of confidence in the agility at that point. Not that cornering at 130 is to be expected anyhow, but I wouldnt want to maintain those speeds and attempt to drive any real distances.

I'm thinking after lowering springs, spacers, and a little wider tire, some of that will dimenish.

If you do the calculations 6th gear goes up to a stupid 190mph at redline, this gearing is what limits your speed. My NAV goes about the same in top speed, remember 6th gear is your gas saving gear.
Oh and cornering at 130mph is a breeze to be honest, the only thing that slows me down is the annoying wind noise you get from the sunroof when you exceed 100mph.
An before anyone does what I just said is possible, please know your roads, (police too) and please know the limits of your car and you should be fine handling wise.

I would wager that the US model is limited to the tire rating - so 130mph.
Correction, top speed on the tire rating is 149. it is a V rated tire, not H.

BTW FOR EVERYONE, YOU. ARE. INSANE lol I am a big puss when it comes to trying to reach how fast you can go. BE SAFE GUYS. make sure your air pressure is good before doing all that. If you are trying to go over a certian speed, you have to adjust your air pressure to maintain safety on the tires. OR I shouldn't say YOU HAVE TO...I am just not a dare devil lol do what yaw want, just don't harm yourself or anyone else. (or the vt)

well guys our speedo stops measuring at 150 but with a gps i got up to 165 and started running out of road but the car felt planted and solid. a word to the wise have your tires filled with nitrogen and do not maintain speeds above 145 mph for more than ten miles ur tires will come apart. and as i am shure you are all wondering she pulled strong all the way through fifth and was still pulling in sixth when i hit 165 on the gps thats when i backed out. what a RUSH its not the fastest i have ever been but it felt gooooooood!!! like my grandfather says i never drove any car i have ever owned any faster than it would go lol

Still on the stock KH25s? Theyre "V" rated... dont give the kids any bad ideas.

I have some thoughts about finding the VT's top speed.

First, it is going to need W or Y rated tires. Nitrogen is a given.

Second, it is going to have to be lowered to do above 150. Above 100 speed becomes all about aerodynamics. The VT sits way too high and at 150 there is way too much air underneath it that will cause lift. The rear wing and diffuser is cool and all but it is not on the deck like a Corvette, M3 or 911 that can break 150 by design.

Third, if you aren't going to have a rollcage and a helmet you are going to need an ambulance and a hospital nearby. At 150+ if you roll the VT it won't hold up well and you will need immediate access to EMTs and quick access to a trauma center.

HA yeah if something happens and you roll the vt there is a greater chance you will die than anything. Not worth risking my life just to kill my curiosity.

hay there well let me explain my crazyness you either have the tenacity for extreme speed or you dont it is not something you can just go out and get if you have not been there it is not something you can decide to do on a whim i have many years of learning, watching, and reciving sound advice from my grandfather who took me to bonniville every year with him for speed week. it was a slow process for me b/c he would not let me drive until i was twenty and even then he would limit the gears in the car so it would only go as fast as he wanted ME to go and he would slowly speed me up as I learned to handle myself accordingly it wasn't untill I hit 23 that I finally joined the 170 club then when I was 25 i lost my grandfater and well I dont like talkin about it but I kept on his tradition the next year and made my last run and it was then I took things into my own hands. I changed the rearend and put the gearset my grandfater used went out and did it for him I ran 201.762 mph I feel that my grandfater would be proud of me I tied his best, and now I have moved on. started a family and I have a wonderful baby boy, who will one day start a tradition with his daddy. IF I can talk his momma into it lol. but my point being fellas if you don't feel it DON'T do it i dont want anyone gettin hurt. helll if you wanna go fast do it at bonniville anyone can go for speed week hit up the site see what ya need and do it. take your time talk to the veterins they will only give sound advice and will gladly talk to ya just make shure you respect that they are there to run and do not have all the time in the world to help ya some things you just need to figure out on your own but most importantly be safe and have fun. well baby's cryin got to go later fellas.
