Well this is Looooonnggg overdue. To start things off, these guys have the best customer service of any company I have ever worked with. They are patient, responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. They readily answered my five billion questions before purchasing each part, especially the tune. They even helped me out with parts that I had purchased from other companies. So lets get started.
Tork Pipe
I ordered the tork pipe and Big gulp at the same time. I can't speak for the difference in these parts seperately but I will talk about the cumulative effect and ease of installation. First off in theory the tork pipe is a very simple install. I practice, unless you have a lift, it's a b$tch to get on. The pinch clamps underneath the car are redonkulously tight. I actually took one of them over to my bench clamp to loosen it enough to get back on the pipe. haha. The angle you're at underneath the jacked car is pretty frustrating. It took me about 45 minutes to finally get everything back on securely. Unfortunately I did not think to take pictures. However the difference in the pipes is crazy. I cant believe all the extra crap they put inside that resonator. For like 18 bucks though its a hell of a deal.
Big Gulp
This wasn't the first intake I had on my car. I had a K&N typhoon on my car for a month or so before. The sound was driving me nuts, it felt like i'd lost some low end power, and i just didnt feel like i was getting enough air. I took the top off and tried that and it definitely made a huge difference. (Actually suggested by john ironically). So i decided i'd go with the people who had already tuned my car and first come up with the 3.5" innovation. I am going for a black and green theme so i decided to get it powder coated green. Gina actually called to make sure that was the color I wanted. Sent me sample pictures of a few different colors and agonized with me over what I wanted to put on my baby. Well...it turned out gorgeuous. I mean just amazing. Installation was pretty damn easy. It fit in my car like a glove. It's astounding how well he measured out the parameters of the pipe before making them. Not to knock other products such as the k&N typhoon but they just arent custom made for our car the same as this piece. Some people with giant steak hands like mine might have some issues removing the bottom portion of the stock intake but thats what girlfriends are for...right? lol It's definitely a do it yourself mod. Especially with all the installation videos out there now. Once those two parts were on my car i started her up. The sound like my car was having an asthma attack at start up was gone and the car was driving so much smoother. The power delivery is cleaner and quicker. Up high i felt like I got some extra oomph too. The sound is definitely diminished. IS IT GONE? No. But i can live with it now. The sound of the bov from removing the recirc hose is great too. Very clean and crisp. Also makes my magnaflow sound richer and deeper.
Stage 0 Tune
Ironically I got the tune before the other two parts. I had a magnaflow and k&n typhoon on my car and kept reading about the extra power and compressor surge fixes that should have come from the factory. This is my first new car i've ever owned. Before this i owned three cars with 150k+ that somehow managed to last me through college. Well I didnt want to completely blow our ridiculous warranty out of the water and I had heard so many horror stories about bad tunes, damaged ecu's, turbos and engines blowing. However everybody at torks honesty and knowledge as well as their repore with people here on the forums convinced me to give the stage 0 a try. The ECU is stupid easy to remove. Simpler than putting the intake on. I shipped it off and waited. Exactly three days later I got it back. Well i installed it and to be completely honest. My worst fears happened. My car wouldnt start. It kept firing but wouldnt turn over. I called the shop in a panic on a sunday evening. Within about 5 minutes John called me back and had me try a couple things. It still hadnt work. He apologized emphatically and said this hadnt happened in well over 200 tunes. He told me to ship it back right away, he'd handle any shipping costs and he would pay for a rental car if i needed one until this was fixed. Three days later I got it back. Called John and let him know i was going to install it. Looks like somehow the file got corrupted during transition the first time. This time it fired it up and it kicked on perfectly. I took it out without any learning time and made it chirp in the first three gears. 2nd gear is insane now and theres almost no compressor surge, my fuel economy has gone up. Its amazing. If you're looking for gigantic power gains, go for the stage 1. But if you want your daily driver to be fun as hell and play it safe, this is the tune for you. I dont tell this story about the issues the first time around to knock them at all but to show just how exemplary the customer service is. John's honesty in response is absolutely unheard of. He owned up to a possible mistake and did everything he could to rectify it as quickly as possible. I will buy every part I can from here on out from them.
The tune combined with the big gulp, tork pipe, and my magnaflow makes this car sound and drive like a monster. My girlfriend has a stock m/t vt and I get to drive it all the time as well. The difference is just unbelievable. If anyone has any other questions please let me know. I'd be glad to answer. Thankyou Gina, James, and John. You guys are a great company and great advocates for us owners.
