Trading Gray interior for blue

2129 Views 15 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  bluevtm
Iv got a blue veloster and was told that they decided out of all the colors blue shouldnt have a blue interior option, I dont know what they were thinking. So im looking for someone who would want to swap and take this gray off my hands. Having blue seats and mats would be even better but swapping anything would be better than nothing  I live in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area if ya want to meet up and swap.

Wow I'm probably the closest vt to you, bethlehem, pa but I like the blue interior way better than grey. Sorry I can't help you but a lehigh valley meet up might be in the works soon.
Yeah.. Ive been trying to get someone to do this ever since I bought my car..
:-(
Any idea when the meet will be, ill deffinatly be there? The only meets iv seen are craptastic ricer meets and I just toot my BoV and drive away as they all stare at its sexyness. Does anyone know long it would take an average person to remove the trim and seats?
I believe i was the first person to do this swap. I met a member in a parking lot and did the whole swap in about a half hour. We didn't do the back seat or door panels though because we didn't feel it necessary.

Yes GT was one of the biggest influences on me making that trade
I think it took us about two hours, but that was mostly because we only had one set of tools.
I also got a headstart i took my whole center console apart along with the door trim the night before so i knew exactly what had to be done when we met. Its really not difficult only thing youll probably need it the invert torx socket because i don't know many people who have those.

I grabbed one of those 'universal spline drive' sockets from Lowes. Easier than finding the Invert Torx only sockets.

I didnt know there was colored trim in the back, shows how much i use my back seat lol. If the door panels need to be switched to get the colored handles that kinda sucks. Do they come with blue logos on the floor mats?

The back seat bottom and head rests have blue stitching.

You can change the grab bars without changing the door cards, but then you are left with the stitching on the arm rests.

Thats true, thanks I wouldnt have even noticed all those little details. I took my rear headrests out because they block some of the rear view and its rare someone uses the back seats as I live in a family of tall people. +1 to all blue VT's with blue interrior! Iv only seen maybe 4 other turbos near me and none were blue, so I cant wait for a meet to see what other people have done.

I actually wanted the gray interior for my black VT, but the blue was what I settled for. I live in sc though.. Kinda a ways away from ya, otherwise I'd probably do that! I do have family in Hershey, but it may be a while until I get up that way.

I have a week vacation to take this summer. If I can find a good vacation spot down there id come and swap while down there. I have a place about 3miles from Daytona, Florida and could be down there if anyone is in that area, or if ur on the way Spin.
