I'm not a ******* first and foremost. However this is kind of a ******* way to relocate your Turbo badge to your grill. I decided on impulse to do it, so this idea just kind of happened. It actually looks really good though, so I don't care if it's truly the greatest way. It's cheap and easy.
Materials:
Turbo Badge
3M double sided automotive tape or VHB tape
Black spray paint or plastidip
Something to cut aluminum with (scissors will work for this
A can of beer ( I went with old style. It's my second favorite cheapo dirtbag beer, and this was an impulse cheapo mod so it was fitting)
Step one. Drink your beer.
Next step. I should have taken another pic of how I did this. But it's simple. Cut the top and bottom off the can with a sharp blade. Now you have an aluminum tube. Cut down the side and flatten into a sheet of aluminum. Now cut it into a square. of Aluminum. I can't remember my exact measurements, but you need enough to fit the letters and secure it to the grill. You bend this flat piece into a nice square "U" shape as pictured. Use the edge of something to get a nice straight bend
Next either paint or dip your aluminum black. I dipped mine for a few reasons. I wouldn't have sharp edges, I had dip handy, and I could use it to help secure the letters.
Now secure the letters. I had already placed 3M tape on the back of the letters. However I decided rather than stick it to the plastidip I'd embed them in. So on my second coat I pushed them right into it, 3M tape and all. Once it dried, they are about as secure as can be.
After it was dry, I cut and peeled the dip off the back edges of the "U" and put 3M tape on each of those edges. This is how it secures to the grill. Then you just carefully insert it into the slats of the grill. Make sure to really push it all down against the slats really nice so the tape fully adheres.
And here is the finished product I might re-do it less rednecky one day, but for now it looks great:
