I have installed 4 kits now without a single issue related to popping off couplers, broken clamps, pressure leaks, etc. All using the same type S BOVs

Here are the instructions for the V.1 kit. They are pretty comprehensive. I am going to work on updating these to the V.2 kit as soon as I do another install.

If you don't think this is something that you can tackle, PLEASE have it professionally installed.

I have had multiple customers concerned with boost leak issues that have done DIY installs. I have had one actual faulty BOV so far that had a faulty o-ring and the rest were overlooks during the DIY, clamps not tightened enough, torn BPS o-ring, etc.

There are 2 MAJOR points where an FMIC system can and might leak from: The BOV or the couplers.

BOV can happen due to not having the vacuum lines hooked up right, rare occurances of a BOV fault, no gasket, not tightened onto the flange enough, improper assembly (if you did the one spring mod)

The other is the couplers.

You need to reuse the stock clamp or use the supplied worm groove clamp on the stock hot pipe.
You need to make sure everything is tight and the clamps are installed over the rolled lip on the pipes.
Make sure everything is tight.
Make SURE everything is tight.

One other point of leaks which I have never even heard of but it IS possible, is a leak from welds on the actual intercooler. This would either be very visible (hole) or not very visible but would be a very high pitched sound (leaking from a pinhole)

If you are experiencing leaks, you need to diagnose where they are coming from and why and I will have the issues resolved (if due to faulty parts) immediately.

Wow a lot of details. Thank for posting it up so quick! Can't wait to get mine in.
It was a fairly easy install with Turbosocks, definitely fits like a glove once everything is on. He did a great job with the measurements and boy the butt dyno likes it ;).

My only comment on the diy is the part where we put the lamest horn ever back in the badass looking car. My next research project is going to be finding a replacement horn...cuz wtf man.

Otherwise awesome write up. I'm very impressed with the detailed explanations.

Can't wait to get to wrenching again. Feel like a little kid on Christmas Eve. Now just have to convince the wife I need an exhaust......
