Alright, now that some of the other projects are underway, the FMIC's are all shipped out I finally have some time to work on the possible Oil cooler setup for our cars. I am going to be ordering a couple different cores today as well as some different line setups to come up with a kit for the FMIC guys. A non-FMIC oil cooler kit will come later.

I need to see what length of line we will need as it will most likely need to be custom tailored to our car as well as what angle fittings will work best. Then of course, I want to test it out and see what types of oil temperatures we are looking at!

The oil cooler kit will mount in the void above the crash bar where your FMIC used to be.

Also included in the sandwich plate will be a plug to be able to install a oil pressure/oil temperature probe!

The kit will include everything needed to add the Oil Cooler setup including:

  • Oil cooler itself
  • Jegs push-loc lines and fittigns
  • Sandwich plate with fitting
  • All hardware needed to mount the lines and the cooler to the crash bar.

Pricing is 195$ shipped in the states. Lines are going to end up being custom made by me so it will be a perfect fit to the Veloster. Will be using a CNC machined sandwich plate and all JEGS lines/fittings with a 2" thick core cooler mounted to the crash bar. Will verify size of cooler tomorrow!

I'll have to say maybe. I was looking to use the void for a ram air box for the SRI after I get the FMIC in (and move my PIAA horns somewhere).

What kind of dimensions are you looking at for the cooler? And the big question, what issues do you foresee with the installation and performance? (e.g. does the engine maintain adequate oil pressure to effectively circulate the oil?)

the engine will maintain adequate pressure for sure. What I would suggest is adding a bit more oil (can calculate it exactly) to compensate for the added volume.. Simple :p

Core size looking to be about 4-5" tall and about 8-10" wide. I will have to see what will fit well when doing my downpipe install.

As the cooler core isn't that thick and wont fill the entire void, you should still be able to do some ram air box system with great results. Since air flows through and around it, it wont be like adding the core to that spot is going to hinder all or even most of the air flow going to a FMIC CAI or some type of box.

not much interest here! Not a worry though. I will be doing a kit on my car soon and then depending on ease of line production, these should be available to you guys also!

With all the other products you have out/coming out, it is hard to keep up!

But, to let you know socks, I will be getting everything you have to offer for the VT in time. I can't buy everything at once unfortunately. But this is FO SHO on my list so as long as it is available, I will buy one from you sooner or later, hopefully sooner than later.

I agree with MyDiana...between you and Jim Pierce, you have so much stuff out for the VT that I can't financially keep up...but will definitely be buying as much as I can as quickly as I can.

Maybe it would be much easier if i put you as a signer on my checking account, that way you can just send me the stuff when it comes out.

Very interested, in the oil cooler.
Hell, you of handedly I've mentioned a ram air box/ enclosed fmic cai, and I'm still eagerly awaiting that.

I awaiting the shipment if your v1 fmic from another forum member.
Well be ordering your dual port flange and boost gauge, rigid collar kit, hood vents. I'll looking forward to an oil cooler as well.
Wonder if you'll be releasing a header, dp, exhaust, suspension parts anytime soon. Always love see what else is running through you mind and what you're releasing

The previous comments are accurate Turbo. I'm def interested in the Oil kit, but I can't spend all my money on my VT....well technically i can but my wife will kill me..u know what i mean. Anyways, I'm tryn to save for a tune, the big turbo upgrade u posted, and also interested in the Brembo set. That's pretty much my priority order, and as u can see its not cheap so i need to watch myself how i spend my $$. But don't throw anything out the window yet pls

Interested based on the location. Maybe even a DIY kit to make it your own
There's plenty of how to pages, of your just looking to determine your own size and set up needs, I might go that route if it means choosing between the team air sweet up or oil cooler being mounted I'm stock ic location.
Thankfully if you look in turbosocks site he had the option of different cite sizes, style and length of needed hardware

alright, ball is finally rolling and actually out to come to me saturday on the veloster turbo specific kit. It will mount in front of the stock IC location.

As far as a DIY kit, I have those on my site! You can customize everything from hose length, fitting angle and core size!

going with a 11"x4"x2" core which should be PLENTY for cooling!!

the spacer is just a little over 1" thick and then will need to have the lines come out of it. the fittings that come out from the spacer are -8AN and then will have 45 degree fittings attached to them going to the front of the car and then to the oil cooler.
