After doing some research and getting some helpful information from another member, I am looking at coming up with a 100% bolt on Big Brake kit for us.

This would REQUIRE 17"+ wheels, no 16" wheels would work.

Right now, our option for a Big Brake Kit is the brembo @ 3000$+...

Our stock Rotors are 11.8", the Rotors in this kit would be 12.6".

We would be using the caliper brackets and calipers from a Kia Optima Turbo.. Painting would be included at no additional cost.

We would be using performance rotors that have the typical options of: drilled, slotted or drilled and slotted.

For pads, we would most likely going with a PowerStop Ceramic brake pads or the Extreme series. Hawk HPS will be an option as well as others.

The pad surfaces are thermal scorched for fast break-in. Evolution pads feature a true ceramic formula that keeps wheels cleaner, and won’t wear-out the rotors. Power Stop pads have 20% more stopping power than other leading brands. The premium carbon-ceramic compound is made using OE positive mold technology, that assures a uniform friction density throughout the pad and this helps control noise and premature wear. Evolution pads are manufactured under TS16949 standards to OEM specifications including chamfers and slots.
I would also be looking at getting stainless steel brake lines included in the price.

This is just an interest thread. If there happens to be some interest, I can look into the upgraded lines more and actually sourcing the partts and trying them out!

Y not get Pierce to get some pads made for the kit like the others he has? Or maybe as an option?

Found out that goodridge makes a Brake line kit for us. (NAV but according to HMA, they look quite similar, would have to verify)

Only thing is you have to buy all 4 lines and the kit is ~210$ shipped. Obviously will not be including these in the BBK at the stated price, can just make them an option!

there are plenty of pads out there that will fit the Genesis coupe and Optima turbo calipers. Don't think we really need more options but the more, the better!

I'm interested in this, conceptually. I don't think it is necessary, but I also don't think 2/3 of the work I've done on my beloved VT has been necessary. I'll follow your progress and see what happens :)

goodridge makes a SS line kit for the V. I am pretty sure that they will work for the VTurbo also. If you look on HMA at the front and rear brake lines of both cars, they look identical.

Big Brakes are just good. I have just factory rotors and pads and it really handles my rough driving with ease

no warping, little on the soft side but thats how factory pads are...,

the optima turbo brakes are heavier, better venting and dissipating heat, has bigger sweeping area...it is more than enough for the VT but it fills that gap nicely.

try it out! it worked out great for me at the dragon :)

Got 14 people interested in the kit! So it sounds like I will be moving forward to get everything together for it.

Will be ordering parts for the kit as soon as the Oil cooler kit is done!

just so you guys are aware the early years veloster and now veloster had a brake line route update strut change...so whichever way those v ss brake lines are might be that much different.
