That's what I thought, either way you can tell by the video the Veloster had some crazy traction which affected its time. Veloster most likely got a 1.7 reaction time run while the Civic got a .6-.7 It was horrible... lol

All the VT needs is better tires and an LSD. I'm pretty sure that with a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust, the VT will be runing ahead of a stock SI or GTI...

better tires will definitely help.. I don't like that the VT is running slightly stretched tires
I really don't understand the stretched tire trend.

Well the whole thing started in germany/belgium, local laws required that the tire tread be within the fender line. well that doesnt allow one to run wider or lower offset wheels, so they put narrower tires on the wheel to maintain legality. People do it who would like to run really wide or low offset wheels and keep the tire tread at the fender or when you would like to go really low and not rub

i'm really tempted to pick up some kumho 4x all seasons in 225 40 18's they have great reviews cost less then 500 shipped and will fix the stretch look.. I don't want to do dedicated summer/ snows.. tis annoying for a car that doesn't have enough power currently to warrant it

Good reaction time, good shifting and probably some mods on the 2013(!) Veloster Turbo helped with that race.

I test drove the 2012 Honda Civic Si before I bought my VT and it sure felt faster than the VT.

The Civic Si lacked cargo capacity and warranty for my needs - plus it just lacked the "wow" factor in both the exterior and interior that the VT has in spades. But it was definitely a little bit faster.

i dont know why people worry about reaction time.. less you're doing brackets it doesn't effect you
