See what happens. Long as not a wear item or mods on car or something crazy it should be covered under warranty if you still have warranty on the car and by any dealer. If they will not do it I'd find another dealer to fix the issue. The diagnostic fee is BS in a way but hell they have to make $ I guess. I'd only charge you $149 ;-) LMAO!
Ok, so IF the car was mod'd, and the dealer refuses to fix car, THEN I should sue the dealership that sold it to me under the pretense of having an extended warranty. Otherwise, it sounds like Hyundai should honor the warranty and fix the CEL.
Yeah, I don't mind spending a little, but I just spent all my savings getting the car, and then some to do the work on my own.
One more question (maybe for @trdtoy ), I noticed that my car has the conical air filter on it (like in your avatar pic) , but did not think much of it when purchasing. Not being very familiar with these cars, is that stock or did someone remove the airbox and replace it? Maybe that is causing the misfires?
So, dealer said they have been looking at my car for about a week (had it there for 3 weeks now). They said aftermarket air intake may void warranty, the service alerts have been going off way before I bought the car, and that I cannot file a lemon law against other dealership I bought it from, since lemon law only applies to original dealerships.
Hoping they can still fix car, but may have to get a lawyer to settle this with the place I bought it from.
Soooo...looks like the OG dealership I bought it from is going to help. But the Hyundai dealership says they need to replace the cold air intake with factory before they can determine what's causing the misfires. So...car now 4 1/2 weeks at dealership, will be another week or 2 to get the parts....rerun diagnostics.......yawn....
appreciate the help and assistant!
I’ve bought an 2014 Veloster 1.6 with 61.5 mileage, I will do my best to describe my issue:

On my way home I get a check engine light so I pull into local local auto parts store for them to check code.. It is a cylinder 4 misfire. Has anyone else had this issue? My Vt only has 6500 miles on it.. Seems a little premature.. Coilpack? Plugs?
I love my veloster but were like 1 year in of me owning it and a few problems are popping up.
One of them is the cruisecontrol, for some reason i barely works. I really need to be lucky to be able to turn it on.
Most of the time when i press the -set button down it doesnt do anything...

Hi everyone, on a drive down to Louisiana from Indiana, my VT suddenly started acting really weird and shuddering badly. I managed to coax it to a dealership near Nashville, TN, where the diagnosis was grim: it did as the 2013s do and threw a rod, totally borking #2 cylinder and who knows what...
