Got a couple of projects finished up today. I wrapped the engine cover again. This time I used the 3M 94 Primer to see if I have better luck with it sticking, the engine heat got to it last time. I also finished up my home made oil catch cans. I put the larger one in the PCV line and the small one in the breather line, already collecting a little bit of stuff.

the engine cover looks awesome.. if it stays looking good this time how much would you want for one like that but with maybe the center bolster being orange?

it looks like you're pulling in alot of moisture though withj how milky that looks

you should have something in there to catch the smaller stuff though.. an open catch can doesnt do much for the way of ACTUALLY helping anything

Kobalt seperators correct? Thats a nice setup i just warn you ive had friends use them in the past they build moisture and look gross inside.
Yes the stuff in the bowl is nasty looking I will probably take them off and paint the bowl after I see how long it takes to fill up. I put ball valves with hoses running down by the oil filter so draining will be easy enough.

unfortunately that probably will make it look like shit from what I've seen.. that being said .. painting the cover with some high temp primer on both sides.. then black high temp then applying the wrap might help
A matte clear coat might look fine

Unfortunately the heat from the engine got to the wrap again and it has begun to seperate from the cover in some of the compound curves. I had no problems with it on the drive to Cincinnati, I checked it when I arrived. The problem began once the car sat and the cover began to heat soak. I love the carbon fiber look on the cover and I am determined to have it. I have worked with carbon fiber before on some kit planes I've built, I am now thinking of making a mold and laying up some fiber to make a thin cover that could be placed over the existing cover and held in place with some double sided tape.
