So I was watching some videos while bored at work and this happened to come up after one I was watching:

I noticed in the comments that the guy built a custom charge pipe from the IC to the TB and blocked off the stock bpv. Wonder what it would cost to have one of the sponsors (tsocks or 845) build a custom charge pipe for the stock IC with a BOV flange welded to it along with the block off plate. Also wonder how well this would work out in the long run.

Obviously swapping to a larger FMIC is the best way to go and would net the best results, but I know I'm not the only one out there who wants to get that done just don't have the extra money for that at the time. One would assume that it would be significantly less expensive to have a small portion of piping fit and weld a flange onto it, toss it in a box with a couple of new silicon couplers and some tbolt clamps, and ship it than a full FMIC kit.

Anyone else who has the stock set up interested in something like this? Or am I alone on the crazy train?

I love the sound of that BOV. Yeah I would be interested in something like that as well had I not already have my TS FMIC sitting in the garage. I bet TS or 845 can get this out if they new the interest was out there. But I am sure you can get a flange on the factory spot to have that tial bov on. TS has a kit for the HKS. Is it the same fitting? if so just order the flange from him and get a tial.

Only problem with that is most likely would have to cut on the upper plastic piece like you do with the TS HKS style BOV. If there were a block off plate made and a hard line with a BOV flange welded to that for the charge pipe from the IC to the throttle body that would eliminate the need for cutting the hole. And personally I like the idea of a hard lined charge pipe anyway.

Thats my video and my car. The charge pipe was easy to make. 2 silicone couplers and a piece of aluminum 2.5" pipe. The Tial bov comes with the adapter so that needs to be welded.

Just a straight piece of pipe? What did you do for the block off on the IC?
You could leave the stock BPV intact and just remove the vacuum line. It won't leak until we start pushing the boost higher than stock.

Yes a straight piece of pipe. 1 coupler is straight that goes from the stock intercooler to the pipe. The other coupler is a 45 degree IIRC that goes from pipe to throttle body. I did block off the stock intercooler with a plate from ebay. Auto part Triangle

Awesome! That block off from a turbo Gen? Did you go with a genuine Tial or did you get the knock off version?

if you guys want i have had this set up since i've bought the vehicle and its been perfect i've been running an HKS style bov i love the sound, it was easy just but the gen coupe bov pipe from ebay for like 50 bucks with BOV and get a 2.5"-2.5"coupler and a 2.5-2" coupler and install it. been running off the bov solenoid and have had no problems

i really wish we could've gone the stock replacement route.. we could've capitalized on this.. however the price to performance payoff ... wasn't existant.

as far as power it wont really give much more power as the hot side is definitely more restrictive(unless the cold side balloons on hard accel but i didnt see evidence of that on the dyno.. but it'll sound awesome sauce lol

Its a genuine Tial. I would never buy any type of knockoff product. Ive been in the auto business to long to deal with fake crap.
Roger that. I was thinking if Kyle can get me a good enough price on the Synapse BOV thats the way I will go, if not I may go with a Tial.

Speaking of audio....I have been doing some thinking about replacing the stock sub with a Digital Designs sub. Adding a mono 350 watt amp just for the sub. What are your thoughts?

I upgraded my whole system with JL Audio mono amp, JL 8" sub and Alpine Type R speakers and tweeters in the doors and dash. It sounds much better then the stock Dimension stuff.
