If you want to build an engine, I have a full 13 assembly and rods, pistons and pulleys.

I will need a whole new engine. If I can't find an engine to ship I plan on buying a salvaged VT and parting both out after the swap

What brand and grade of oil were you running?

How many miles were on the last last oil change?

How many miles were on the car?

Did you have a catch can on the PCV side, breather side, or both, or none?

Did you have an aftermarket tune?

What transmission do you have, manual or automatic?

What gear were you in?

Were you cruising and applied light or moderate or heavy throttle when the event occurred?

Uphill or level or downhill grade?

What brand and octane fuel were you running?

Wrong oil
OCI too long
Higher mileage
Mediocre valve cover vapor handling
Crap stock tune
Low octane fuel not good for car

That'll do it for sure.....

Your engine was a victim of LSPI. Expanding on trdtoy's response a bit...

Mobil 1 is not a good oil for this car since it is not a true full synthetic (Group III - hydrocracked) oil; you want to use something like Pennzoil Ultra Platinum or AMSOIL Signature Series, which are both LSPI-resistant. No more than 3000 miles per oil change.

You will need a catch can on the PCV side as well as the breather side.

Stock tune is very lean (14.7:1 or stoichiometric) at part throttle. LSPI is most prevalant between 1500-3000 RPM. Light throttle at 2000 RPM was right in the danger (LSPI) zone. Low grade 87 octane fuel made it even more dangerous.

While you prepare for your replacement engine, I highly suggest you read the following articles:

https://v.gd/xal17
https://v.gd/xfm17

If you follow the advice given, you should not have a repeat of this.

Summarizing what you should do at the absolute minimum:
Use 93 octane fuel (top tier, preferably)
Use true full synthetic oil changed every 3K miles
Put a catch can on both valve cover outlets

If possible, get a stage 0 (cleanup) tune that uses safer fueling, since you are already out of warranty.

Good luck.
