Hi all, I have been modding my vt since I got it last summer. It's a 2015. Favorite car I have ever owned. And being middle aged person I have owned a lot. I would like to venture down the short throw shifter alley. But I really don't know what I'm looking at. Or for. I read some bad things on bbs shifters. Stay away from cosmo shifters. Metal bushings vs poly bushing. I am not that mechanical savy. Would like to be able to order a good shifter that includes everything I need to have it installed. I don't honestly know all what I would need. Also heard that the reverse on aftermarket shifters can not work properly. Is that true? If some of you guys could point me in the right direction on which to purchase. I would like the Matt silver finish. Not into the shiny silver. Would like black but couldn't find any of them. Saw a black one with a vt on it but I would like the gears 1-6 displayed on the knob. Thanks for all your help.

I've been reading a little bit and I heard Cosmos were pretty good...where did you read to stay away from them?
If you want to retain the stock feel but want the reduction in throw, the one from Tork is supposed to be pretty good.

I have a B&M with 6E base bushings and Cable bushings.. Feels amazing and the reverse lock out is the best ive seen. Cosmo needs a bit of trimming from what ive been told, however i havent installed a cosmo so i can verify.
I have very little idea what the normal one feels like, but I like the B&M that is installed in the Rally Edition.
You can get an Rspec/Rally Ed. B&M shifter through a dealership. Costs about $350. It won't reduce the height but it firms up the shifts and has a shorter throw. You also get to say it's OEM.
I got a Tork shifter used that I really like, theirs comes with the base and made install much easier.

I just ordered the BPS short shifter. Hyundai Veloster Short Shifter 2012+ Got it from their eBay shop, it is 10 bucks cheaper. Should get here tomorrow. I am pretty excited since I have the 13 and the shifter is kind of a turd. Installation looks pretty straight forward.
I installed the BPS shifter last night, it was more work than I expected and the instructions were not great or complete. I would have preferred some more detail. I am pretty happy with how it turned out though.
Short shifter problem
Hi all. I installed a billet pro short shifter yesterday in my vt. Went well. Just like the instructions say. Love the shifter. But the problem I have is once In awhile when at a complete stop it sometimes is a little I will say sticky to put in first gear. Only first. Ant only every now and then. Would you know what this could be?

It may not be the same but I had a similar issue with my York SS. It would bind going into 1st and 5th but not like the normal synchro stickieness. This may help..
